News by Matt Wales Reporter Updated on 6 Jun 2020 2 comments This year's Summer Games Done Quick charity speed-running event will be an online-only affair, organisers have announced. Back in March, organisers made the decision to delay Summer Games Done Quick 2020 - which was originally scheduled to take place this month in Bloomington, Minnesota - in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. At the time, it was unclear if a physical show would be possible when its revised 16th-23rd August date arrived, but an answer has now been given. "Games Done Quick has been actively monitoring the situation surrounding COVID-19," organisers wrote in a new statement, "As we prioritise the health and safety of everyone who attends GDQ events, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the on-site portion of Summer Games Done Quick 2020 and instead proceed with an online-only event, called Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online". In light of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the on-site portion of #SGDQ2020 and instead proceed with an online-only event, Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online. For more information, including submissions and volunteer information: https://t.co/umiMSaefOZ pic.twitter.com/vLKIKNNAqO- Games Done Quick (@GamesDoneQuick) June 5, 2020 To see this content please enable targeting cookies.
