As detailed by EA CEO Andrew Wilson in a recent call with investors, Apex Legends will have a soft launch on mobile "by the end of this year". EA previously detailed plans for an Apex Legends mobile launch in an earnings call last year, but this is the first we've heard of a release window. Here it is. It's possible Respawn could adopt an approach similar to Fortnite, which pooled Switch and mobile players together after Switch players complained they were at a disadvantage to consoles (via Gamesindustry.biz). In any case, it should be interesting to see how the famously fast-paced battle royale translates to mobile, and what sort of game design adjustments will be made to help it fit the platform.
