Key retailer websites go down amid Xbox Series X pre-orders All Access sellers GAME, Smyths both offline. News by Wesley Yin-Poole Deputy Editorial Director Updated on 22 Sep 2020 136 comments Key retailer websites have gone offline amid Xbox Series X pre-orders. The websites for GAME and Smyths are both currently offline. In the UK, GAME and Smyths are the only two retailers authorised to sell Xbox All Access - that is, paying monthly for a new Xbox rather than all up-front. Tweets from the shops' official accounts reveal the retailers are working to restore their sites now. Our holding page is currently up whilst we improve the customer journey for our pre-order customers. Please be patient and keep checking the website. Thanks for your patience.- GAME.co.uk (@GAMEdigital) September 22, 2020 To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Manage cookie settings Update: 9:35am 22/09/20. Our website is down at the moment but customers can still pre-order the new Xbox consoles in any of our stores. Pre-order on Xbox All Access is unavailable while our website is down. Apologies for the inconvenience, we are working hard to fix the issue.- Smyths Toys UK (@SmythsToysUK) September 22, 2020 To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Manage cookie settings A source at GAME indicated to Eurogamer this morning that its website's collapse was the result of a number of issues, including the sale of the All Access program, issues with the delivery system, and a quite remarkable deal that was seemingly offered in error. This error meant people could buy an Xbox Series X with a Turtle Beach headset for just £320. An Xbox Series X should cost £450 on its own. In case anyone's wondering why GAME's just shut down their site! ? pic.twitter.com/Qjct6KLXYS- GamingDeals.com (@gamingdealscom) September 22, 2020 To see this content please enable targeting cookies. The Xbox Series S is currently still available. Did you manage to snag an Xbox Series X / S pre-order this morning?
