Call of Duty: Warzone is getting fast-travel via a subway system Aldgate East. All get out. News by Wesley Yin-Poole Deputy Editorial Director Updated on 26 Sep 2020 7 comments Call of Duty: Warzone is getting fast-travel. As part of the launch of season six of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on 29th September, the battle royale's map gets a new subway system, known as the Metro. This lets players fast-travel between seven subway stations. Here's how it works: find one of the new subway stations, pop down the large staircase, hop over the turnstiles and head down the landing. There, turn left or right to find a staircase down to the station's platform. The platform is broken up into two halves, each side for a different direction of the line. Both sides have a small room and an escape ladder that leads up to a hole on the surface just a few dozen meters from the main subway staircase entrance. If you want to catch the Metro, head to the main platform, then wait for a train (the trains travel to the stations in a clockwise or counter clockwise direction, but will skip those outside or amid the circle). It's worth noting the subway won't move if you fight on board, or between the train and the platform. You have to keep the fighting to the platforms, stairwells and outside the stations. The idea is the subway acts as the one true safe area in the game, in which players can reload, swap items and take a breather. Oh, and it sounds like stepping onto the tracks is an instant death - and your squadmates won't be able to pick up your loot, either. There's no doubt this new fast-travel system will change the way Warzone plays significantly. It'll be the fastest way to get around the map, and it's open to all. The subway could be a good option for losing an enemy, hunting down a target or getting to a store quickly. The subway could also make for more close quarters combat. Inside the subway stations themselves, there isn't a huge amount of room for your marksman and sniper rifles to be effective. Could the subway make shotguns viable in Warzone? It would be a nice change of pace, for sure. And I imagine if the circle ends at a subway station, a shotgun or SMG would be pretty handy. Watch on YouTube But what I'm most looking forward to about the new subway system is the potential for traps. Popping claymores and other equipment in stairwells or around the entrance to a subway station could end up paying off big time.
