Here's a look inside a Mario Kart Live prototype Course you can. News by Tom Phillips Deputy Editor Updated on 2 Oct 2020 16 comments A very different kind of Mario Kart is set to launch in just two weeks. Today, Nintendo and developer Velan Studios has shown off a little more about what to expect. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit uses augmented-reality technology packed into tiny remote control cars. In a behind-the-scenes video, Velan Studios showed off an early prototype, from before Nintendo got to work refining the idea. Mario Kart Live is the work of Velan Studios, the outfit set up by Vicarious Visions co-founders Guha and Karthik Bala after they departed their Activision-owned studio. Nintendo collaborated on both the hardware and software side of the game, Velan Studios staff detailed in the below developer video. As for the game itself, an extended look at gameplay below shows more of the courses and effects you can unlock, how using taking damage or using items will stop or speed up your remote control kart, as well as some of the costumes for your Mario or Luigi you can earn in-game. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is an interesting idea - the only downside may be its cost. Each race car kit comes with a £100 price tag.
