The only difference is that, like the Throwback Challenges that ran in May, Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Skill is a Timed Research quest, which means that you must complete it before the quest expires. The Go Fest Skill Challenge consists of three quest steps, with each one containing three individual challenges. These challenges will be designed to test your skills at Pokémon Go, while the name of the questline suggests. If you manage to complete Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Skill before the deadline, you'll be able to access the Go Fest Elite Skill Challenge. Jump-Start Special Research, which debuted last year as part of the third anniversary celebrations, is also available during this week. This means, you missed it last year, you now have the opportunity to start this special research quest. Elite 'Go Fest Skill Challenge' Step 1 of 1 Catch 100 Pokémon - 5 Pokéballs Catch 25 different species of Pokémon - 5 Great Balls Make 50 Excellent Throws - 5 Ultra Balls Elite step completion rewards: 500 XP, 500 Stardust, 5 Razz Berries As Niantic itself says, these are for "personal bragging rights", so see their completion as their own reward. Go Fest Skill Challenge unlock goals in Poké mon Go explained Aside from the rewards you'll gain simply from completing Go Fest Skill Challenge, completing the challenge set will see you contribute to a global competition tally. The tally you're assigned to depends on which Pokémon Go team you're currently one - Mystic, Instinct or Valor. When a minimum of one million trainers for a specific team, Mystic for example, completes Go Fest Weekly Challenge: Skill, a new Pokémon will be unlocked for Go Fest 2020. If this goal is not reached, then the Pokémon will not appear during the event. Below you can find which Pokémon have been assigned to each and will be released if the one million goal is reached: One million Team Mystic - Alomomola One million Team Instinct - Chimecho One million Team Valor - Chansey These Pokémon will be added to Go Fest 2020 if the goals can be reached. Each Go Fest Weekly Challenge has it's own set of unlockable goals, which means that completing all three of the challenge sets will help add even more rare Pokémon to Go Fest 2020. Currently live is the Evolving Stars event, which includes the release of quest steps 5 to 8 of A Cosmic Companion - the Season of Light special research quest. Elsewhere, be sure to use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance of encountering Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres. There's also a new special research quest - A Mysterious Incense. Finally - don't forget about the new Prime Gaming rewards every fortnight.
