Pokémon Sword and Shield - Double Pack Larvitar and Jangmo-o Dynamax Crystals reward explained Everything you need to know about the pre-order bonus Dynamax Crystals for the Pokémon Sword and Shield Double Pack. Guide by Lottie Lynn Guides Editor Updated on 12 Jan 2021 1 comment The Larvitar and Jangmo-o Dynamax Crystals are exclusive in-games item that can only be received if you decide to purchase the Double Pack of Pokémon Sword and Shield. These special items will allow you to encounter both Larvitar and Jangmo-o far earlier than where they appear in the game. You also can't find Larvitar in Pokémon Sword or find Jangmo-o in Pokémon Shield, so using the Dynamax Crystals will allow you to add either Pokémon to your Pokédex without having to trade. When you receive the Double Pack, you'll also receive two codes - one for each Dynamax Crystal. This means you can redeem the Larvitar Dynamax Crystal in Pokémon Sword, the game where Larvitar doesn't normally appear and vice versa. Pick which game you redeem the Dynamax Crystals in carefully, because you can only use each code once. This means that if you redeem the Larvitar Dynamax Crystal code in Pokémon Sword, you can't then redeem it again in Pokémon Shield. Basically you have one code per version of the game. Before you receive the Dynamax Crystal, ensure that you are connected to the Internet, because, without that connection, you won't be able to download the items. Below we're outlined the steps you need to complete to receive either of the Dynamax Crystals: Turn on whichever version of the game you wish to download your chosen Dynamax Crystal into. Begin playing the game and select the option for 'Mystery Gift' from the X menu. Select 'Get a Mystery Gift' from the next menu. Next, you need to select 'Get with Code / Password' to be connected to the Internet. Enter your chosen code. Open Mystery Gift in the X Menu, next Select 'Get a Mystery Gift' and, finally, 'Get with Code / Password.' Your Dynamax Crystal will now arrive in your Bag in-game, allowing you to use it whenever you like. Make sure you save your game after you receive the Dynamax Crystal - remember, you can only redeem these codes once. How to use the Dynamax Crystals in Poké mon Sword and Shield You can use both Dynamax Crystals once you reach the Wild Area, which you first visit on your journey from Wedgehurt to the city of Motostoke. Within the Wild Area you'll find small collections of rocks that have a red aura. These are Pokémon Dens and inside them dwell Dynamax Pokémon. Interacting with one of these Pokémon Dens will allow you to battle a Dynamax Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle. You have the option to invite other trainers to battle alongside you during these raids. Max Raid Battles occur by interacting with Pokémon Dens. We're not exactly sure yet, but it appears that if you want to use the Larvitar or Jangmo-o Dynamax Crystals you must visit a very specific Pokémon Den, called the Ghost Watchtower. Here you'll be able to use either the Larvitar Dynamax Crystal or the Jangmo-o Dynamax Crystal to make these Pokémon appear in a Max Raid Battle. Once you've used a Dynamax Crystal, you'll then be able to battle that Pokémon until you win the battle or it turns midnight on the day you used the Dynmax Crystal.
