In a farewell post on Twitter, Sega said Smith had been an "integral part of the Sega family". "He brought the voice of Sonic to life, and we are forever grateful for his never-ending enthusiasm in helping the community and spreading joy," the publisher added. Manage cookie settings ORIGINAL STORY 28/01/21: It sounds like it's the end of Roger Craig Smith's stint as Sonic the Hedgehog - at least according to a slightly vague Twitter post. Earlier today Smith tweeted "10 years had been an amazing run", adding some blue hearts and hedgehog emojis to give a little hint as to what the post was about. "Much love to the fans who've been so kind, it's been an honour," he added. "Onward to new zones!" We've asked Sega for comment.
