Once you've harvested these crops, you can use them as ingredients in different cooking recipes to create meals to both eat and decorate your island with. First - just like with wheat, sugarcane and pumpkins - you need to know where to find carrots, potatoes and tomatoes. It's important to remember that Leif changes the stock of his Harv's Island store every Monday, so, if he doesn't have the crop you're after, try again next week! All of these crops can be purchased individually for 280 Bells or in a bulk of five for 1,400 Bells. You may, however, get lucky when sailing with Kapp'n and land on island containing carrots, tomatoes or potatoes. If you do, then you'll find that all of the plants will have crops ready for harvest, with some offering more than others. You can choose to either simply harvest the crops or, using your shovel, dig the plants up and take them back to your island. Remember - to grow these tasty treats, you must first download the free Ver.2.0 patch for New Horizons. How to grow carrots potatoes and tomatoes in Animal Crossing New Horizons If you're planning on growing carrots, potatoes and tomatoes, then you might as well set up a mini farm on your island in Now Horizons to include wheat, sugarcane and pumpkins into your agriculture endeavours. Finding the right amount of space might call for some island reorganisation, but, when you're ready, open your inventory and select the crop you wish to plant. You will then need to select 'Plant 1' to truly plant it in the ground. Don't forget to water your carrots, potatoes and tomatoes after planting them! It will take them four days to grow and they will do so naturally if you don't water them. You don't, however, have to water them when it rains or snows. The downside to not watering your plants, however, is that they grow as many fruit or vegetables, so, if you're planning on doing a lot of cooking, we recommend keeping to that daily watering schedule. All of these crops have been watered every day. Once you've collected a good amount of carrots, potatoes and tomatoes, you'll be able to use them in a variety of cooking recipes! It will also only take two days for your crops to regrow, which means you don't have to wait very long for another harvest. Hope you enjoy growing carrots, potatoes and tomatoes in New Horizons!
