Best Black Friday 4K TV deals from Amazon US LG OLEDs, Samsung QLEDs and much more besides. Deals by Will Judd Deputy Editor, Digital Foundry Updated on 26 Nov 2021 1 comment 4K TVs have seen best discounts for Black Friday, and here at Digital Foundry we've taken a particular interest in the deals available to the American market via Amazon. Here are the TV deals we recommend checking out, including some of our top gaming 4K TV recommendations like LG OLEDs and Samsung QLEDs, budget models from the likes of Hisense and Vizio, and much more. There's loads here to get excited about, so buckle up - this is gonna be good! LG G1 OLED 55-inch $200 off First up we have the world's premier OLED, the LG G1. This model comes with LG's new Evo OLED panel, which is able to get much brighter than its predecessor. That makes the G1 an ideal choice for use in bright rooms, while maintaining all of the features that make the more affordable LG C1 our #1 recommendation for console and PC gaming. You get gorgeous colour reproduction, wide viewing angles, near-instant pixel response times and low input lag. HDMI 2.1 is fully supported here too, so you can enjoy console gaming on PS5 or Xbox Series X at up to 4K 120fps. The G1's super-slim design is intended to be wall-mounted so it doesn't come with a stand - but after-market stands and mounts are also available. We could say more, but suffice it to say that the LG G1 is an excellent TV - and at 22% off, it's significantly more affordable too. Buy the LG G1 OLED at Amazon for $1697 (was $1897) LG C1 OLED $200 to $900 off Next is the LG C1 OLED. This is essentially the same TV as the LG G1, but with a stand and LG's previous-gen OLED screen. Of course, these screens are still phenomenal, with great colours, perfect blacks and extremely rapid pixel response time; they just don't get quite as bright as the G1's does. If you tend to use your TV mostly with the curtains drawn or at night, then the C1 is a much better choice as it's significantly cheaper. In fact, the 65-inch size of the LG C1 is only $100 more than the 55-inch LG G1 - and I'd much rather have the bigger screen! There are four size options in all, from a desk-friendly 48-inch to more standard 55-inch and 65-inch sizes; there's also a 77-inch screen that looks tremendous but costs nearly twice as much as the 65-inch unit. As before, all sets come with full HDMI 2.1 for current-gen PCs and consoles, Dolby Vision and all the features you could ask for. Check out our LG C1 write-up here for more info! Buy the LG C1 OLED (48-inch) at Amazon for $1097 (was $1297) Buy the LG C1 OLED (55-inch) at Amazon for $1297 (was $1497) Buy the LG C1 OLED (65-inch) at Amazon for $1797 (was $2499) Buy the LG C1 OLED (77-inch) at Amazon for $2897 (was $3799) LG A1 OLED up to $300 off The LG A1 OLED is a more substantial cut-back from the LG C1, with the same great picture quality but a slower 60Hz panel and HDMI 2.0 instead of HDMI 2.1. That means you lose out on gaming features like auto low latency mode and variable refresh rates, but you may get away without these if you don't play fast-paced games often or you spend most of your TV time watching films and TV. Regardless, the A1 still looks phenomenal and is incredibly cheap for a 2021 LG OLED, making it a fine choice at its Black Friday discount prices. Buy the LG A1 OLED (48-inch) at Amazon for $897 (was $1200) Buy the LG A1 OLED (55-inch) at Amazon for $1097 (was $1299) Buy the LG A1 OLED (65-inch) at Amazon for $1497 (was $1799) Samsung QN85A QLED $500 to $1000 off The Samsung QN85A comes with the Korean company's latest IPS-style screen and a Mini LED backlight, allowing them to hit absolutely insane brightness levels and correspondingly high levels of contrast. That makes HDR scenes in games and films really pop, while the IPS nature of the screen ensures wide viewing angles too - great for watching TV from any position in the room. Samsung's QLED TVs have always been strong, but this is the most competitive against OLED that they've ever been - while using less power and being immune to screen burn, rare though it is. The QN85 is otherwise well equipped, with full HDMI 2.1 features for gaming on current-gen consoles and PCs with recent graphics cards. If you don't like OLEDs for whatever reason, this is our top alternative recommendation alongside the (not-currently-discounted) Samsung QN90A. Buy the Samsung QN85A QLED (55-inch) at Amazon for $1097 (was $1600) Buy the Samsung QN85A QLED (75-inch) at Amazon for $1997 (was $3000) Samsung Q80A QLED $300 to $1000 off The Samsung Q80A uses a more standard QLED panel, so it doesn't get as crazy-bright. However, it still delivers great contrast and good colour reproduction, while full HDMI 2.1 support and all the gaming features that provides are maintained also. If you want a bigger TV at a fixed budget, or a cheaper TV at a given size, this could be the way to go! Buy the Samsung Q80A QLED (55-inch) at Amazon for $897 (was $1200) Buy the Samsung Q80A QLED (75-inch) at Amazon for $1697 (was $2700) Sony A80J OLED 65-inch $400 off Back to OLEDs now for a moment with the Sony A80J. This is just one tier below Sony's flagship OLED for 2021, and provides an impeccable viewing experience with bold colours, impactful HDR highlights, perfect blacks and excellent pixel response times - all as you'd expect from a high-end OLED panel. The A80J tends to be a bit better calibrated out of the box than the LG C1, its closest rival, but doesn't come with the full HDMI 2.1 feature set - variable refresh rate support, useful for Xbox consoles and the PC, is promised but not yet delivered in a software update. Still, this is a great-looking TV for the money, and serves as a fine alternative to the C1 if you prefer Sony's take on motion handling and colour science! It's currently $400 off, which is a solid discount to say the least. Buy the Sony A80J OLED (65-inch) at Amazon for $1799 (was $2200) Sony A9G OLED 55-inch $900 off Another Sony OLED option is 2019's A9G. This OLED is going for just $1400, which seems reasonable for a 55-inch OLED with an HDMI 2.0 feature set but great motion handling and colour balance. It comes with Android TV, like other Sony models, which offers access to a wide range of apps and generally works well. Buy the Sony A9G OLED (55-inch) at Amazon for $1399 (was $2300) Vizio M-Series QLED 65-inch just $598 Vizio's M-Series QLED is a great value alternative to Samsung's offerings, with their 65-inch model discounted from $680 to $598. This TV was already a bargain when it debuted, with a ton of screen for the price, and with a further $82 discount that it becomes an even more enticing offer. The TV comes with HDMI 2.0 ports and variable refresh rate support, so gamers are partially accommodated for. Regardless, this is a great deal! Buy the Vizio M-Series QLED (65-inch) at Amazon for $598 (was $680) Samsung AU8000 LED 75 inches for under $1000 Samsung's Crystal-Series AU8000 TVs are another great budget option, offering massive screens at relatively low prices - from a 43-inch model under $400 to a 85-inch model under $1500. You won't find any gaming-specific features here, like 120Hz support, but input lag is at least low and the screens themselves get bright enough so they're certainly usable for gaming. If you're on a budget or simply prefer a larger screen to a smaller one with more features, these are a great shout. Buy the Samsung AU8000 (43-inch) at Amazon for $397 (was $450) Buy the Samsung AU8000 (50-inch) at Amazon for $477 (was $530) Buy the Samsung AU8000 (75-inch) at Amazon for $997 (was $1150) Buy the Samsung AU8000 (85-inch) at Amazon for $1497 (was $2200) Hisense U6G QLED 50-inch $100 off Our final deal is on the Hisense U6G. This is another mid-range QLED set, offering a good picture quality but no gaming-specific features at $400 for a 50-inch size. That's $100 off the usual price, and a good deal overall given the 600 nits peak brightness, low input lag and Dolby Vision support. Phew, that just about does it! Thanks for making it to the end, if indeed you did, and be sure to check back for more deals as we find them on @dealsfoundry and @dealsfoundryusa. Cheers, and we'll see you on the next one!
