Here's how to reset your skills and stats in Diablo 2. You can reset your skills and reset your stats in Diablo 2. While Diablo 2: Resurrected offers an array of quality of life changes to the core experience, the ability to reset your skills (also known as respec, which is short for Respecialization) remains the same. This page explains how to reset your skills in Diablo 2: Resurrected as well as how to reset your stats so you can have a fresh start. On this page: How to reset your skills and stats in Diablo 2 Resurrected How to get the Token of Absolution in Diablo 2 Watch on YouTube Diablo II: Resurrected ™ Announce Trailer How to reset your skills and stats in Diablo 2 Resurrected Respec in Diablo 2 allows you to reset both your skill and stat points already invested in your class character. This means that they'll all be given back to you after performing the action. This is helpful for a variety of reasons - perhaps you've put dozens of hours into the game but aren't feeling the build you've been following so far, or just thought about trying something new without the need of leveling another character from scratch. Unlike Diablo 3, where you're able to respec at any time and without a limitation in between, there are some conditions to keep in mind with its predecessor. First, the easiest way to reset your skills in Diablo 2 is to complete the first quest of Act I, called Den of Evil. This quest is super straightforward, as you only need to complete a dungeon in the first area outside the Rogue Encampment. Afterwards, you'll be able to reset both your skills and stats just by talking to Akara and selecting the option. You can respec up to three times per character, once per difficulty (Normal, Nightmare and Hell). To unlock a higher difficulty, you need to complete all five Acts in the game first. Now, if you want to respec more than three times, the option to do so is a bit of a grind. Looking for more help? How to get the Token of Absolution in Diablo 2 The Token of Absolution is an item that can be obtained in Hell difficulty, which means that it'll take you a while to get there. This item is created by combining specific rare drops from all Act bosses. Then, you need to combine them using the Horadric Cube, which is obtained in Act II. You need four of these drops, called Essences, in order to craft the Token of Absolution. In order, these are the bosses that drop each of them: Twisted Essence of Suffering: Dropped by Andariel and Duriel Charged Essence of Hatred: Dropped by Mephisto Burning Essence of Terror: Dropped by Diablo Festering Essence of Destruction: Dropped by Baal Once you have all four essences, drag them into the cube and create the Token of Absolution. In case you've exhausted all three respec possibilities from Akara, as well as using the Token of Absolution once, you're free to gather the essences again and repeat the whole process as many times as you'd like. The steps sound simple, but it's a rather time-consuming task. We recommend to keep the respec from Akara as long as possible to avoid the grind.
