During the Season of Discovery, you can expect to see different Pokémon spawning in the wild depending on which hemisphere you're located in. There will also be new Mega Evolutions, bonuses and upcoming unannounced in-game events. Below you can find the hemisphere Pokémon spawns, along with the Season of Discovery end date. In keeping with the theme of discovery, you'll receive double the amount of XP for completing a Research Breakthrough and there will also be new field research tasks for you to find. Like previous seasons, a number of Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild depending on which hemisphere you live in during the Season of Discovery. These Pokémon are: Northern hemisphere Season of Discovery spawns: Alolan Diglett Staryu Scyther Treecko Torchic Mudkip Sableye Barboach Summer Form Deerling Southern hemisphere Season of Discovery spawns: Alolan Sandshrew Alolan Vulpix Shellder Lickitung Chimecho Turtwig Chimchar Piplup Winter Form Deerling Cubchoo Both hemispheres also have a number of Pokémon appearing more frequently in specific habitats, such as in wooded areas or towns. These Pokémon, along with their habitats, are: Forests: Bellsprout - Forests Doduo - Forests Skorupi - Forests Mountainous areas: Rhyhorn - Mountain areas Nosepass - Mountain areas Dwebble - Mountain areas Near water: Magikarp - Near water Marill - Near water Wailmer - Near water Urban areas: Alolan Rattata - Urban areas Magnemite - Urban areas Porygon - Urban areas Throughout this season, there will also only be one Mega Evolution available to battle in Mega Raids at one, making it easier to focus on collecting a specific type of Mega Energy. The first Mega Evolution to appear is Mega Lopunny, which will be followed by the release of Mega Slowbro. Regirock, Regice and Registeel will be returning to five-star raids between Tuesday, 1st June to Thursday, 17th June, starting and ending at 10am (local time). Though we don't know what will be available after this period, we are promised a surprise! Like previous seasons, the Season of Discovery also includes changes to the egg pools, wild Pokémon spawns, new Mega Evolutions, unannounced events and you'll be able to partake in Season 8 of the Go Battle League. Finally, Go Fest 2021 will be taking place during the Season of Discovery, so get prepared to celebrate Pokémon Go's fifth anniversary! Poké mon Go Season of Discovery end date When will the Season of Discovery end and how long will it be The Season of Discovery is running from Tuesday, 1st June at 10am (local time) to Wednesday, 1st September at 10am (local time). Season 8 of the Go Battle League shares these dates, with various leagues and special cups running throughout this time period. Though the Season of Discovery has a specific start and end date, any features released within it will be staggered throughout the season. This includes new in-game events, new Pokémon and the special cups for the Go Battle League. What are Seasons in Poké mon Go Introduced in December 2020, Seasons are in-game periods - three months in length - which will tie together various events to a theme and add a number of new features and quality of life changes.
