Destiny 2 Vault of Glass guide, changes and everything else you need to know about the returning raid Our complete walkthrough for Destiny's Vault of Glass raid, complete with boss strategies and combat tips. Guide by Patrick Dane Contributor Updated on 10 Jun 2021 Vault of Glass - the original Destiny's first ever raid, and arguably Bungie's best - has returned to Destiny 2. Vault of Glass is available free for all players - perfect for lapsed Destiny players looking to relive old memories. That said, though the reintroduction of the Vault of Glass may have the trapping of the old raid, but it's a new beast altogether. The structure of many of the encounters remains the same, but there are new technical wrinkles that make many of the later encounters much more difficult. However, if you can master everything Venus throws at you, there's a ton of great loot to get you through - from the Vex Mythoclast to the Fatebringer. Watch on YouTube Destiny 2 Vault of Glass trailer Destiny 2 Vault of Glass guide A walkthrough to every encounter Here's how to complete every stage of Vault of Glass, in sequence: How to open the Vault and form the spire with Vex plates Defend the Confluxes and destroy the Oracles Templar boss strategy Gorgon maze route, platform puzzle and jumping puzzle explained Gatekeepers encounter strategy Atheon boss strategy If you're looking for Vault of Glass collectibles: Vault of Glass chest locations Glass Shard locations Destiny 2 Vault of Glass changes explained Vault of Glass walks the line between being the raid we know, love and occasionally rage quit at, while also offering a new challenge that takes into account the many differences in Destiny 2's systems. Here's the main Vault of Glass changes at a glance: Opening of the Vault of Glass works very similar to the original with small changes to enemy types. The Confluxes is shorter and each wave of enemies is pinpointed with a Wyvern and an Overload Champion. The Oracles' big change is that now they must be shot in the order they spawn in, adding a Simon Says portion. The Templar includes the sequenced Oracles too, and the Relic holder can no longer cleanse teammates of the Marked for Negation debuff. The Gorgons are mostly unchanged despite minor tweaks to the geometry and their sensitivity. The Gatekeeper now has a debuff for those who bring the Relic into the portal rooms. The Relic needs to be passed to players so they can defeat a shielded enemy and then brought to another room by another player creating a relay race mechanic. Atheon, Time's Conflux now incorporates oracles that must be read in an order from outside the portal room. The portal room team must then defeat three oracles three times in the correct order to begin the damage phase. One player at random will be detained during the damage phase and must move away from their team. Throughout the raid, chest locations have moved, while there is a new collectible to find - Glass Shards. The Season of Plunder is here! New additions include the Sails of the Shipstealer quest, Treasure Coordinates and Map Fragments, Cryptic Quatrains and weapons such as the Quicksilver Storm and Taipan 4FR. Meanwhile, there's the arrival of King's Fall and King's Fall challenges such as Devious Theory and Gaze Amaze, plus weapons including Doom of Chelchis and Touch of Malice. Elsewhere, we've seen the return of Allied Demand in Iron Banner this season. For The Witch Queen, learn how to get Exotics including Dead Messenger and Parasite. Outside the raid itself, there's also the following: The raid features now-familiar Destiny 2 staples such as Wyverns and Overload Champions - so look forward to encountering those throughout. Vault of Glass is not launched from a planet, as Venus isn't in the game - instead, you must go to the Legends area of the Director. As such, don't expect random players to help you open the entrance to the raid (in the original, the first encounter was situated in the Venus patrol zone). Datamines have revealed the Vault of Glass loot table, showing many returning weapons and armour pieces - though as noted by the following image's creator Testifye on reddit that it could be incorrect, early signs suggest each encounter's pool features two armour pieces and three weapons: An early look at the possible Vault of Glass loot table (image credit: Testifye on reddit). As well as this, there's a 'vendor' chest after the final encounter where you can spend Spoils of Conquest to purchase new rolls of acquired gear, as with Deep Stone Crypt. Finally, datamines have also confirmed an upcoming Master difficulty to come. At launch, Vault of Glass will be the only Raid in Destiny 2 to offer Pinnacle drops, with Beyond Light's Deep Stone Crypt demoting its drops to Powerful Gear on the launch of Season of the Splicer.
