News by Wesley Yin-Poole Deputy Editorial Director Updated on 14 Jul 2021 4 comments Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's hidden nuke scorestreak has expanded to the rest of multiplayer, Treyarch has announced. The nuke scorestreak that was only available in Cranked Hardpoint mode is now available in all multiplayer modes except League Play and CDL variants, Multi-Team, party games and Gunfight. Watch on YouTube Treyarch first added the nuke scorestreak to Black Ops Cold War without an announcement in May, during season three, to the Cranked Hardpoint mode. It was the first time a Treyarch Call of Duty had the nuke scorestreak. Here's how it looks following this week's 1.20 update, which can now be installed, courtesy of YouTuber Xanzyi: To get the scorestreak you have to earn 30 kills without dying - an incredibly hard thing to do for all but the top Call of Duty players. The nuke does not automatically end the match in respawn modes, as it does in the Modern Warfare games. Instead, it wipes all players when the nuke detonates - including the player who earned the nuke and their teammates. It's worth noting your death as a result of using the nuke counts, and if you're playing in hardcore, which carries a penalty if you kill your own teammates, you're not penalised for those nuke deaths. Infinity Ward's 2019 shooter Modern Warfare saw the return of the tactical nuke killstreak a decade after it was last seen in 20019's Modern Warfare 2. The nuke is a long-running signature hidden killstreak in Infinity Ward's games, finally now widely available in a Treyarch COD.
