On Monday, the company launched an all electric motorcycle brand dubbed LiveWire. It is named after the company’s first electric motorbike which was unveiled in 2019. Back in February, the company said it would create a separate electric vehicle-focused division to attract the next generation of younger and more environmentally conscious riders. Yesterday, Chief Executive Officer Jochen Zeitz said in a statement, “We are seizing the opportunity to lead and define the market in EV. LiveWire also plans to innovate and develop technology that will be applicable to Harley-Davidson electric motorcycles in the future.” Harley-Davidson electric motorcycle brand LiveWire It is worth mention that in the past few months, after the rise of Elon Musk’s Tesla, plenty companies including companies from non automobile industry have shifted their focus into electric vehicle. Back in February, reports surfaced that suggested Chinese telecommunications company Huawei is going to launch of its own electric vehicle brand by this year. Later on, it was confirmed that the Chinese tech giant is in talks with state-owned Changan Automobile and other automakers to use their car plants to make its electric vehicles. Reports suggest, Huawei is also in discussing with companies like Beijing-backed BAIC Group’s BluePark New Energy Technology to manufacture its electric vehicles. It seems after the Huawei was cut off from business operation in the Us, the company started focusing on other business segments like electric vehicles. Huawei was blacklisted by Trump administration and the scene didn’t clear with Bidden’s arrival. The company was blacklisted over national security concerns.
