Former users of the Tenseigan Dojutsu

There have only been two known owners to the Tenseigan Dojutsu; Hamura Otsutsuki and his descendant, Toneri Otsutsuki. As many fans may already know, this Dojutsu was only possessed by the Otsutsuki pair and the reason is still unknown. Hamura sealed Kaguya by fighting alongside his very own brother, Hagoromo Otsutsuki. Hagoromo is also referred to as the Sage of the Six Paths. Toneri Otsutsuki Hamura is the direct ancestor to the Kaguya clan and managed to awaken his Tenseigan after he received his powers; powers in the form of Byakguan. Later during the series, he works on fulfilling his brother, Hagoromo’s will that eventually leads the viewers to the second and only other Tenseigan user as of now. Toneri Otsutsuki was able to awaken his Tenseigan along with his powers after successfully implanting Hanabi’s (Hinata’s sister) Byakguan. Due to him being a direct descendant of Hamura, he managed to awaken his Dojutsu in a matter of days.

Powers that the Tenseigan possesses

The Tenseigan is a rare evolution of the Byakugan and a very powerful Dojutsu since it grants the user abilities to reanimate any object of choice. This is why Toneri could reanimate a stone monument dedicated to Hamura. The Tenseigan is strong enough to even shower any place with meteors if needed.

Tenseigan Chakra mode

This mode may even be stronger than Naruto’s Nine-Tailed Chakra mode. When a user is in this mode, they can utilise the Truth Seeker Orb and even strengthen it by using chakra. Can Boruto awaken the Tenseigan

In order to be able to awaken and use the Tenseigan, one needs to have Otsutsuki Chakra in them, and be from the Hyuga clan. Due to this theory, Hinata would be able to awaken the Tenseigan since she possesses both the things needed to do so. Although fans hope for Boruto to be able to awaken the Tenseigan, it might be out of the question since he does not have the Byakguan. Boruto already has possession of the Jougan, which is why it is highly unlikely that he will be able to awaken the Tenseigan. Boruto Tenseigan Boruto’s sister, Himawari Uzumaki, may be able to awaken the Tenseigan if possible. Since she possesses the Byakguan, she might be able to awaken the Tenseigan.
