Below we cover why you should catch as many Growlithe as possible during this hour-long window, including the chance to find a 100% perfect IV stats Growlithe and a preview of shiny Growlithe. Aside from Growlithe's Spotlight Hour, there's a lot going on in the world of Pokémon Go; today sees the start of the Festival of Color event and Oricorio has been added to the game. Don't forget to complete the A Melemele Adventure quest either - it's the first of four Alola region themed quests and, if you complete them before the Season of Alola ends, you'll gain free access to an end-of-season special research quest! Growlithe 100% perfect IV stats in Poké mon Go This week's Spotlight Hour is the perfect opportunity to catch a Growlithe with perfect IV stats. Arcanine - Growlithe's evolution - is still an excellent fire-type choice, especially for newcomers, despite being one of the first Pokémon released. If you manage to find a Growlithe with perfect IV stats, you'll be able to create a powerful Arcanine who can burn through your opponents, especially any grass-type. The CP values that correspond to perfect 15/15/15 values are as follows: Level 30 (wild CP maximum) - 1066 CP Level 35 (weather boosted CP maximum) - 1154 CP The wild CP value aligns with your trainer level until you reach Level 30 and, since the majority of the player base is now above Level 30, we've kept to these values for simplicity's sake. These values will, however, be different if you're currently below Level 30. Currently live is the Evolving Stars event, which includes the release of quest steps 5 to 8 of A Cosmic Companion - the Season of Light special research quest. Elsewhere, be sure to use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance of encountering Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres. There's also a new special research quest - A Mysterious Incense. Finally - don't forget about the new Prime Gaming rewards every fortnight. Is there a shiny Growlithe in Poké mon Go Arcanine. There is a shiny version of Growlithe in Pokémon Go. This form debuted in September 2018 when the field research tasks for that month changed. By using 50 Growlithe, you can evolve a shiny Growlithe into a shiny Arcanine - adding another entry to your shiny Pokédex. Remember - the Spotlight Hour only increases the number of Growlithe spawning in the wild, not this Pokémon's shiny rate. This means that, unlike a Community Day, the shiny rates for Growlithe won't change during a Spotlight Hour. What does shiny Growlithe look like As you can see in the pictures below, shiny Growlithe has a yellow colouring, which is quite similar to traditional Growlithe's orange fur. Other reasons to catch as many Growlithe as possible Aside from the chance to catch a shiny Growlithe, there are a number of other reasons to partake in this week's Spotlight Hour: This week's bonus is double catch stardust, which makes it the perfect time to gather some stardust. You can further increase the amount you receive by using a Star Piece for 30 minutes. If you're a newcomer to Pokémon Go, this is the perfect chance to gather enough Growlithe candy so you can add Arcanine to your Pokédex. Oricorio - a Gen 7 Pokémon - was released today as part of the Festival of Color and you may spot this Pokémon in the wild during this Spotlight Hour. Make sure you catch one to add another Pokémon to your Pokédex! Since Growlithe is a fire-type Pokémon, catching them will add progress to your fire-type catch bonus medal. Spotlight Hour only lasts for an hour - 6pm to 7pm (local time) - but don't worry if you can't partake in this week's event.
