Halo Battle Royale Could Be In Development Rumour Suggests 28 January 2022 by Richard Breslin A recent rumour has claimed that a Halo Infinite battle royale mode could be in development. To no surprise to anyone. Before now, we’ve heard very conflicting rumours in regard to a Halo Infinite battle royale. Some reports suggest that it might be happening. However, Xbox chief Phil Spencer has outright said that Halo Infinite doesn’t need a battle royale. Sure, of course, Halo Infinite doesn’t need a battle royale, but that’s not to say it won’t happen. Personally, I’m not big on the genre, I’m more into traditional multiplayer modes. However, if there’s one series that can tempt me into the genre, it’s Halo.ADVERT ADVERT According to Windows Central as well as the Grubbsnax podcast, developer Certain Affinity is said to be working on a “Monster Hunter style” Xbox exclusive. It’s said that this exclusive could be revealed in 2023 ahead of a 2024 release. Obviously, that’s not Halo related but bear with me. Credit: 343 Industries Certainly Affinity is also familiar with the first-person genre. In the past, they’ve lent a helping hand with the likes of Call of Duty, as well as Halo Infinite. See, it’s all starting to piece together now. Furthermore, in the report from Windows Central, it is also claimed that Certainly Affinity could be helping 343 Industries once more on Halo Infinite. This time for the rumoured battle royale.ADVERT ADVERT Could there be truth to the rumours “Certain Affinity has long been a close partner of Microsoft, working on various Halo titles from Halo 2, through to the Master Chief Collection to Halo Infinite,” claims Windows Central. “I’ve received some separate hints that Certain Affinity may also be working on a new game mode for Halo Infinite, which could be a take on the popular battle royale formula or something completely different entirely.” Credit: 343 Industries Naturally, we must take all rumours and speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
