Assassin’ s Creed ‘ Desmond Miles’ Story Was Going To End In Space 24 January 2022 by Richard Breslin Assassin’s Creed protagonist Desmond Miles… In space? Yep, you heard right, it was almost a THING. In 2019, conspiracy theorist and religious researcher Lars de Wildt spoke with some of the Assassin’s Creed developers. The interviews were part of a research study for Belgian university KU Leuven. However, as reported by Eurogamer, an updated footnote revealed some details on the concept of Desmon Miles going to space. Apparently, he was going to find a home, as well as start a new civilisation. As you do, of course.ADVERT ADVERT “The original plan was pieced together based on interviews by me with AC’s original creator Patrice Désilets and AC3’s creative director Alex Hutchinson,” wrote de Wildt. “Briefly put, the third game would end with a resolution of the conflict in the present day, with Desmond Miles taking down Abstergo using the combined knowledge and skills of all his ancestors, including AC1’s Altair and AC2’s Ezio.” Credit: Ubisoft Eurogamer recently spoke to Assassin’s Creed 3 creative director Alex Hutchinson who was able to elaborate further into de Wildt’s report on the series originally concluding in space.ADVERT ADVERT Desmond & Lucy kissing in a tree “Also, it is the end of the world in 2012,” continued de Wildt, “and Desmond Miles and Lucy are starting a new civilisation somewhere else – as Adam and Eve.” “That’s why she’s called Lucy, after the Australopithecus afarensis,” Désilets told de Wildt in an interview. Furthermore, Désilets added “Boum! It’s a freaking spaceship!” Credit: Ubisoft So there you have it, the ending of Assassin’s Creed 3 could have seen Desmond and Lucy making space babies. Wonderful! I suppose, if the series had continued with that story arc, it would have been interesting to play an Assassin’s Creed game set on another planet.ADVERT ADVERT Would you have liked to have seen the Desmond Miles story ending with a trip into space?
