NFT Game From Fable Creator Has Already Sold $50m Of Imaginary Land 17 December 2021 by Richard Breslin The upcoming NFT game from video game developer Peter Molyneux has already sold $50 million of imaginary land. Earlier this week, Molyneux’s studio 22cans announced that it will be entering the NFT blockchain game with the sim title called Legacy. The game in question isn’t out until next year, yet it’s already made silly money from selling digital plot land. Credit: 22cans As reported by Eurogamer, at the time of writing, the plot of land which no human will ever be able to live on has already made $53 million (£40 million) in sales. I can’t help to ask myself, but why?ADVERT ADVERT For example, so far, the biggest in-game sale of digital plot land is London which sold for an incredible $900,000 (£670,00). Just imagine the size of the real house or actual plot land that you’ll be able to buy with that kind of money. Credit: 22cans All this lush digital land is being purchased with the new cryptocurrency called LegacyCoin, which is inspired by the Peter Molyneux Legacy game. This LegacyCoin is based upon the Ethereum blockchain. So what is the point of Peter Molyneux s Legacy Players are encouraged to purchase “Land NFTs” and upon doing so, you can start your own “in-game blockchain business association.” As with most blockchain schemes, one day you might be able to get your money back. If you’re incredibly lucky, you might even turn a profit. Items can then be lent to other players also wanting to start an in-game “business” in Legacy. Those people will become partners and you will earn a cut of their earned LegacyCoin. This is sounding more and more like a pyramid scheme to me.
