Elden Ring VR Mod Is Even More Intimidating Than Normal 26 May 202225 April 2022 by Oisin Kuhnke Someone is working on an Elden Ring VR mod, and if you weren’t constantly on edge while playing before, you will be now. Elden Ring FAQ: Every Guide You’ll Need The thing about FromSoftware games is that you never quite know what’s around the corner. Souls games like to play with space and expectations in some mean but often very funny ways. Often resulting in things like getting hit by a skeleton and falling to your death. But it being third person helps with that a bit, as you get a good sense of space. Elden Ring in VR though? That’s the stuff of nightmares. And a modder has shared some footage of what that might look like (via PC Gamer).ADVERT ADVERT As you can see in the video above, Luke Ross makes VR mods for some big games, most recently Elden Ring. The video shows the very start of the game, where your character wakes up in the chapel of anticipation. And it’s immediately an impressive mod. The various UI screens float in relation to where you’re looking, not just overlaid like they are in the regular version of the game. It really looks like they’re existing in a 3D space. Typically Ross makes third person VR mods, but opted for first person for Elden Ring. “Third-person in this game is really far away (about 5 meters on average) and that doesn’t work very well in VR,” Ross told PC Gamer. “Instead of being in the thick of action, you’re kind of like ‘Hey, is something going on over there?’ Nevertheless, I’m going to leave the original camera as an option for purists. I’ll probably also add an intermediate, close-third-person camera. But I think the first-person camera is where it’s at.“ Have you beaten Elden Ring?Vote! How this first person camera will translate into combat isn’t clear just yet. The footage doesn’t quite get that far. But hopefully Ross figures out a way to let you dodge without getting motion sick from constantly rolling.ADVERT ADVERT The fighting in Ukraine is causing families to flee their homes.
