PlayStation Plus Subscribers Are Down From Last Year 11 May 2022 by Richard Breslin According to Sony’s most recent financial report, the PlayStation Plus subscriber numbers are down year-on-year. But only slightly. As reported by Push Square, the year-on-year PlayStation Plus subscription number is down ever so slightly from 47.6 million in the fiscal year 2020 to 47.4 million in the fiscal year 2021. While in the grand scheme of things, 200,000 is only a small number. However, I’m sure it might not give Sony as much confidence as it would have liked. Especially with the revised PlayStation Plus subscription service kicking off in June.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Sony I m sure it s fine That being said, during the same fiscal period of Q3 2021, PS Plus subscriptions did peak at around 48 million, before suffering a slight drop once more. Furthermore, PlayStation Network users also saw a drop during the same period by around 5 million. Ever since plans were announced for the revised PS Plus subscription service which includes three tiers, it’s fair to say that the reception has been somewhat mixed. So, it will be interesting to see if PS Plus subscription numbers have fallen or risen between June 2022 and June 2023. Do you believe that Sony should be concerned?
