Skyrim Player Makes An Unfortunate Discovery About Bloodspring 12 April 2022 by Richard Breslin A Skyrim player makes the unfortunate discovery after drinking from the Bloodspring. Suffice to say, it didn’t end well. Despite being originally released a decade ago, it still amazes me that players are still discovering new secrets in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Albeit some discoveries can be considered better than others, depending on your perspective. When the Dawnguard expansion was released for Skyrim in 2012, it introduced an epic vampire hunting storyline. In Dawnguard, a group of vampires collectively known as Volkihar were led by their leader, Lord Harkon.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Bethesda Did you become a creature of the night While the initial goal was to stop Volkihar from smothering the world in darkness and raising an army of deadly vampires, players were also eventually given the choice to join Volkihar. In doing so, players can truly become evil creatures of the night. Though after accidentally turning into a vampire in Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, this was something I chose to avoid. If you choose to become a creature of the night in Skyrim, you will have the opportunity to drink from the not-so divine Bloodspring in Redwater Den. The Bloodspring would help to ensure that you stay alive (well, at least as an undead creature) to maintain your vampiric superpowers. However, what if you choose not to become a vampire, but still drank from the Bloodspring? Well, that was a question that Reddit user Huge_Best_World_Hero had asked themselves. As it turns out, nothing good came from drinking from the Bloodspring, unless you were a blood-sucking vampire.ADVERT ADVERT Drink from the Bloodspring for science The Reddit user shared a clip of their experiment revealing what would happen to a normal character should they drink from the pool intended for creatures of the night. As a result, every single disease known to Skyrim would be inflicted upon you. Happy days! Sure, if you had the potions at hand, you could cure yourself of all the contracted diseases, but you would have to be very prepared before doing so. Though I suppose you could save your progress before drinking the vintage intended for vampires, for science, obviously. Have you drunk from the Bloodspring when not in vampire form? If so, let us know on Twitter.
