Ghostwire Tokyo – Best Beginner Tips For New Players 21 March 2022 by Christian Wait Looking for the best beginner tips for Ghostwire: Tokyo? Good, because it can get a bit tricky if players aren’t set up for success early on in-game. The adventures of Akito and KK are certainly something that blends the worlds of Japanese Horror and the semi-open world action-adventure genre. This particular blend of genres requires players to develop some good habits early on to set them up for whatever challenges come their way. We’ve been having some good fun with Ghostwire: Tokyo, so much so we’ve made a note of some of the things we should have kept in mind right from the start of our playthroughs. Find all of our Ghostwire: Tokyo guides hereADVERT ADVERT The Best Beginner Tips for Ghostwire Tokyo We won’t be giving away the game here, so we’re going to be trying to stay spoiler-free and sticking to the first two chapters of Ghostwire: Tokyo. Whilst the majority of this article is going to cover the basics, they are easy to forget about when being sucked into the narrative bounty of Ghostwire: Tokyo. Collect as much food as possible – Best Beginner Tips for Ghostwire Tokyo One of the most important best beginner tips for Ghostwire: Tokyo is searching and collecting food. From dog food to a plastic bag full of instant noodles, having a good supply of consumables early on is going to help players out to no end. Food can also have other benefits, such as giving a scared pup some Dog food for it to go digging up some money. Some enemies will teleport as players are working their ethereal weaving skills for a cheap shot off-camera more often than we’d care to admit. Retreating back and firing down some food to replenish health before tackling evil spirits again is really going to help players out.ADVERT ADVERT The best places to find food are in cupboards, inside open apartments, and by parked bicycles with baskets on. Remember, all life was instantly wiped out, so players will find food in all kinds of wacky places. There’s also spectral food that players can grab for some extra buffs that will always go down a treat whilst trying to clear a Torii gate too. Use block – Best Beginner Tips for Ghostwire Tokyo Players can use ethereal blocking by hitting L1 whenever they need to, which comes in really handy when saving from surprise attacks from strange spirits with umbrellas. Blocking can also come in really handy to speed up or cancel out ethereal weaving too. Ethereal weaving is so cool, but it also uses up energy and should be managed tightly so players don’t get caught out. For example, players will start out with a count of 30 uses, which can be upgraded and swapped out for different spirit skills as they progress.ADVERT ADVERT If players are charging or about to weave a spirit skill, they can cancel it out without any cost by simply blocking with L1. The same applies when using other projectile weapons too such as the bow. Hunt And Collect Spirits    Players can easily get swapped up in the mission at hand when starting a new playthrough of Ghostwire: Tokyo, but it’s always good to be prepared and kind out XP and cash. By using Katashiro to capture lost spirits, they can then trade them in at payphones for experience points and money. It’s always worth looking down a street or corner unexplored to find spirits floating around. Using Spectral Vision to spot weak points for corruption can reward players with spirits to rescue too. There are quite a few unsuspecting places spirits can dwell, but we’ll leave all the fun up to playersADVERT ADVERT Hit Anything That Floats Throughout Ghostwire: Tokyo, some everyday objects are in a floating stasis with flowing luminous energy surrounding them. Don’t ignore them, smash them by pressing R3 which will release the spirit energy held within. This will charge up your current spirit ability so make sure to keep an eye out for them. Use Ethereal Vision  It’s not just for spotting weak points in enemies. Ethereal Vision can also be used to highlight items or landmarks of interest in-game such as Torii Gates, Dogs, food, spirits and much more. It’s a great tool to stock up on consumables before a big fight or just when players are running low, don’t forget about it!
