The Last of Us HBO Ellie actor was asked not to play the games to prepare for role 10 October 2022 by Richard Breslin The Last of Us HBO series Ellie has not played the Naughty Dog video games. However, there’s a good reason why. Recently we were treated to the first proper trailer of the upcoming The Last of Us TV show from HBO and it’s fair to say that it did not disappoint. The two lead protagonists will of course be Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey). Bella has never played The Last of Us However, during an interview with USA Today, it was revealed that Bella Ramsey has not played any of The Last of Us video games. Furthermore, she was encouraged not to play the games during her audition for the TV series.ADVERT ADVERT Ramsey revealed that when asked whether she has played the video game series, she replied “nope”. At this point, she was then told to “keep it that way”. However, Ramsey did state that while she never actually played the games after her audition, she “did watch some of the gameplay on YouTube just to get a sense of it”. Credit: Naughty Dog/HBO Despite not playing the video games (yet), Ramsey revealed that she is really excited for The Last of Us series to launch on HBO in the US and Sky in the UK. “It was such a big part of my life. I shot for a whole year, which is quite a long time when you’ve only lived for 19 years,” exclaimed the actress. Bella is not the only one However, Bella Ramsey is not the only lead star not to play The Last of Us. During an interview with GQ, while he attempted to play the game, he admitted to not having the “specific kind of skill” required.ADVERT ADVERT “It’s so sad, I haven’t any skill. I tried, you know,” explained Pascal. “And then it was only a matter of minutes before I had to hand it over to my nephew. It really takes a specific kind of skill, and I don’t have it.” Credit: Naughty Dog/HBO When will The Last of Us TV series from HBO be released The Last of Us TV series from HBO doesn’t have a release date at the time of writing.
