In 2021, rumours began circulating that the voice of Bayonetta, Hellena Taylor would not be returning in the third outing. When a fan tweeted Taylor saying: “You’re an icon Hellena I can’t imagine Bayonetta without your amazing voice,” the actress replied, “Well you might have to.” Well you might have to.- Hellena Taylor (@hellenataylor) September 12, 2021 Jennifer Hale is now the voice of Bayonetta Of course, at the time, despite the concerning words of Hellena Taylor, we never had official confirmation that she wouldn’t be returning as Bayonetta. That was at least, until now.ADVERT ADVERT During an interview with Game Informer, PlatinumGames has now confirmed that Hellena Taylor has been replaced. Credit: PlatinumGames PlatinumGames has confirmed reports Yusuke Miyata of PlatinumGames and director of Bayonetta 3 said that the decision to swap Jennifer Hale in place of Hellena Taylor was due to “overlapping circumstances” and said that “Jennifer’s performance was way beyond what we could have imagined.” However, Japanese voice actress Atsuko Tanaka has reprised her role. Hellena Taylor has been the voice of Bayonetta since 2009 and has played a massive role in making the character iconic with her sassy wit and charm. So this will take a little getting used to.ADVERT ADVERT Will Hale become the voice of Bayonetta moving forward Thankfully, at least judging by the trailers, Jennifer Hale does a great job voicing Bayonetta and to be fair, the voice is nearly identical. This should come as no surprise because Hale is one of the best voice actors in the industry. It will be interesting to see if Jennifer Hale will continue to be the voice of Bayonetta moving forward or if Hellena Taylor will claim back her role should more games in the series be released.
