Nintendo eShop is cracking down on adult-themed content 6 October 2022 by Richard Breslin It appears that the Nintendo eShop is to be cracking down on adult-themed content, a video game publisher has confirmed. I think it’s fair to say that the Nintendo eShop on the Switch needs some work. Furthermore, it’s not the easiest store to navigate with continuous flurries of AAA and indie publishers releasing the latest games on the store. In many ways, the eShop is a bit of a wild west, so to speak.ADVERT ADVERT However, with so many releases in a single week on the eShop, it might be considered easy for certain games to fly under the radar. This might be an ideal situation for a game that might have adult-themed and risqué content. Moreover, the publisher in question is Gamuzumi and the related video game is Hot Tentacles Shooter. Nintendo eShop says no to boobs “We received an answer from Nintendo and now we have confirmation that they do not allow uncensored boobs on their consoles now,” tweeted Gamuzumi.ADVERT ADVERT So, the bad news first:We received an answer from Nintendo and now we have a confirmation that they do not allow uncensored boobs on their consoles now. https://t.co/fQBcGWDFEw- Gamuzumi (@gamuzumi) September 30, 2022 Gamuzumi followed up in a series of tweets explaining that the yet-to-be-released Elves Christmas Hentai Puzzle was also rejected due to the game featuring nudity. The publisher will be able to upload its games to the eShop, however, they will have to do so by censoring them from now on. Extra censorship is required on the eShop Gamuzumi shared its disappointment that Nintendo has allowed nudity content on the eShop before now. However, it is Nintendo’s right to change its policies if it feels the need to do so. Hopefully, publishers such as Gamuzumi will have success in all digital stores despite the requirement of censoring its games. BUT, we still have platforms like Steam, @nutakugames, and more where we can release the game fully uncensored for everyone! - Gamuzumi (@gamuzumi) September 30, 2022 What are your thoughts on Nintendo deciding to censor nudity content on its eShop?
