Like seriously, can January 2023 hurry up and arrive? In 2021 confirming all the rumours and speculation, the Dead Space remake was finally announced by Electronic Arts. Developed by Motive using the Frostbite engine, this remake will be built from the ground up. However, it will maintain the essence of 2008 original, but it will have a few surprises in store. Classic sci-fi horror remade Fans of the original Dead Space will find some of the moments featured in the gameplay trailer very familiar and if you’re new to this game, then you’re in for a trick and treat. Either way, I think it’s fair to say that the remake’s debut trailer did not disappoint.ADVERT ADVERT In case you didn’t know, in Dead Space, it’s the year 2508 and the earth is on the brink of collapse. So, humanity is forced to find a new home on a new planet. In order to survive on new planets, giant planet-crackers are used to harvest resources. Not much is known about these alien monstrosities, all we do know is that an ancient artefact called the “Marker” seems to be behind it all. There’ s a Collector’ s Edition A Dead Space remake Collector’s Edition has also been announced. It is exclusive to Limited Run Games in the US. So, unfortunately, if you live in another country and you wanted this bad boy, expect to pay excessive import and delivery fees. For starters, Isaac Clarke now has a voice. Isaac did have a voice in the two sequels; however, he was a silent protagonist in the 2008 original. The Dead Space remake will also feature new rooms, obstacles, new UI map controls and an improved locator tool.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: EA/Motive A huge part of the original Dead Space trilogy was the dismemberment of the Necromorphs. This is certainly the case in the remake, however, dismemberment is now more gruesome than ever, thanks to the “Peeling System”. The Peeling System: “introduces layered flesh, tendons and bones that break, tear and shatter in shocking new ways. And while strategy is key, players will also experience increased opportunities for creativity in how they utilise their variety of unique weapons and abilities to combat these horrifying enemies.” Furthermore, the “Intensity Director” will dynamically adjust Isaac’s stress during gameplay depending on the predicament at hand. This will impact Isaac’s breathing, heartbeat, emotional and physical state, and more.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: EA/Motive Isaac is going to be so stressed Additionally, the Intensity Director will also dynamically alter the enemies’ actions as well as make subtle adjustments to the environment. For example, Necromorphs’ spawn locations will be dictated as well as “environmental effects such as light, smoke, particles and sound.” Finally, as previously reported, the Dead Space remake will be one shot from start to finish in a “fully interconnected Ishimura.” From the moment the gameplay begins, there will be no loading screen or camera cut. That is of course unless you die. Credit: EA/Motive When is the Dead Space remake release date Dead Space will release on January 27th, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series XS.
