Spider-Man Remastered PC players make interesting discovery in the game files 17 August 2022 by Richard Breslin Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered has a PlayStation PC launcher hidden within its files, hinting at Sony’s future plans on the platform. If Sony does introduce its own launcher, it will be following in the footsteps of Bethesda, Rockstar Games, Ubisoft, Epic Games as well as Activision Blizzard. A PlayStation PC launcher is looking likely References to the “PlayStation PC launcher” found within the files of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered have been verified by VGC. Furthermore, according to VGC, Sony also plans to integrate the PlayStation Network with its PC ports.ADVERT ADVERT Other files were found in Marvel’s Spider-Man which contained references to “PSNAccountLinked” as well as “PSNLinkingEntitlements”. So, it seems likely that a Sony launcher and PSN to PC integration could be on the cards. Credit: Sony Sony is making big moves on the PC market The discovery of the files within Marvel’s Spider-Man backs up previous ambitions by Sony to have a greater slice of the PC gaming market. Back in October 2021, Sony changed its PC publishing label from “PlayStation Mobile” to “PlayStation PC LLC”. All this noise not only means that more first-party PlayStation titles are coming to PC, but with a bit of luck, they might make the jump a lot sooner.ADVERT ADVERT For example, between Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War (2018) and Days Gone, it can take anywhere from two to four years to make the jump. At some point this year, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is also arriving on PC. Albeit, within a much less time frame from PS5 to PC, compared to previous Sony ports.
