Steam Summer Sale 2022 is live – here s what we recommend 24 June 2022 by Olly Smith Steam has launched its annual Summer Sale 2022, where thousands of digital games see reduced discounts. It’s quite possibly one of the best times of the year if you’re a PC gamer who wants to save a little on the best PC games around. If you’re looking for some new games to play over the rest of your summer and keep you occupied to Autumn, here are some titles we’d recommend you pick up. But first, remember that when it comes to PC gaming your hardware is crucial to having a good time. If you’re after a new headset, keyboard or controller, the GameByte Shop has what you need. ADVERT ADVERT STEAM SUMMER SALE 2022 – WHAT WE RECOMMEND Credit: FromSoftware ACTION GAMES If you’re looking for some games featuring high-octane action and intense gameplay, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is currently 50% off on Steam. It’s FromSoftware’s epic ninja action game where you explore a fantasy-version of medieval Japan combatting ancient foes and large monsters. Meanwhile, the medieval swordplay multiplayer game Chivalry 2 is 40% off. Having played some myself recently, it’s ridiculously fun and chaotic. It’s got that same fun factor as Team Fortress 2 did back in the day. If you want a really good bargain on action games though, Sniper Elite 4 is a whopping 90% off, coming in at only £3.99. That makes it potentially one of the best deals in this sale. If you’re after some more modern puzzle games to challenge your logic, we’d recommend Outer Wilds (40% off), Unpacking (20% off), and Return of the Obra Dinn (30% off). Finally, one more puzzle game I don’t think gets talked about enough is Dorfromantik. It’s currently 20% off and worth every penny if you need a good “second screen during zoom calls” kind of game.ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Capcom HORROR GAMES If you think you’re tough enough to brave some of the scariest horror games around, be sure to pick up Phasmophobia for 20% off. It’s still in Early Access but is incredibly distressing when played with friends or randoms. Meanwhile, one of our favourite horror games from last year, Resident Evil Village can be picked up for 50% off. If you’re a PC gamer looking to sample some of the recent titles Sony has brought to Steam, you can also save 30% on Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, 20% off God of War and 50% off Horizon Zero Dawn.
