Fallout 5 Has Been Confirmed By Bethesda 15 June 202215 June 2022 by Richard Breslin Fallout 5 is coming after The Elder Scrolls 6, as confirmed by Bethesda’s Todd Howard. However, we’ll be in for a long wait indeed. Howard was talking to IGN when confirming that Fallout 5 will arrive after The Elder Scrolls 6, whenever that may be. The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced four years ago and other than its announcement trailer, we know practically nothing about the upcoming RPG. Credit: Obsidian Entertainment We knew Fallout 5 was coming Back in November 2021, Todd Howard also hinted to IGN that the next Fallout is in Bethesda’s plans, however, at that stage it is just a mere concept. That being said, earlier this year it was reported that the next Fallout game could in fact be New Vegas 2 and discussions are taking place between Microsoft and Bethesda.ADVERT ADVERT However, Howard has now given us an inkling as to when Fallout 5 might arrive. Sure, we might not have an official release window, but at least we kind of have an idea of Bethesda’s release schedule. It's Battle of the Franchises! Which of these do you prefer?Vote! When will Fallout 5 be released On the topic of Fallout 5, Howard recently told IGN: “Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well.” Well, that’s the big question. As I mentioned earlier, The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced four years ago in 2018. Yes, it’s really been that long. Furthermore, last year a leaker by the name of Tyler McVicker claimed that The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t release until 2026 or even 2027!ADVERT ADVERT Credit: Christian Gomm It s all rumours at the moment Obviously, at this time, it’s pure hearsay as to when The Elder Scrolls 6 may or may not release. With that in mind, we must take all rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. However, let’s say, best case scenario The Elder Scrolls 6 releases in 2024, it would likely mean that Fallout 5 could follow two or three years later if we’re lucky. Either way, I’d say we could be looking at Fallout 5 releasing at the latter end of the 2020s. But, that is pure speculation on my part.
