There is no justification for this. Star Wars Fans Told ‘ Don’ t Choose To Be Racist’ Following Attack On Obi-Wan Actress 1 June 2022 by Richard Breslin Star Wars fans have been told not to be racist following a social media attack on a star of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It should go without saying that people shouldn’t be racist. Unfortunately, there will always be a small minority that will lash out at others based upon skin colour or background. It’s easy to forget that most fans are nice, however, it’s this small minority that can let the fanbase down. Racist abuse was aimed at Moses Ingram who plays Reva, one of the Inquisitors in the Obi-Wan series. As reported by TheGamer, Moses posted an Instagram story which resulted in misguided fans deeming the actress not worthy to play the role of an Inquisitor.ADVERT ADVERT “You’re a diversity hire, and you won’t be loved or remembered for this acting role,” replied one individual. Sadly, that wasn’t the only hateful comment aimed toward Moses Ingram. The Star Wars Twitter account responded in kind with “There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don’t choose to be a racist.” There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don’t choose to be a racist.- Star Wars (@starwars) May 31, 2022 Obi-Wan star Ewen McGregor also posted a clip praising fans, but also condemning those that choose to be racist.ADVERT ADVERT A personal message from Ewan McGregor. pic.twitter.com/ZcIvVNpQUD- Obi-Wan Kenobi (@obiwankenobi) June 1, 2022 Just be kind There’s no justification to attack people in such a way, and racism should never have a place in our world. Please, choose to do better and choose to be kind. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series is available now on Disney Plus, and I can’t wait to see how the Inquisitors react to events in episode two as they relentlessly pursue Obi-Wan in their quest to eradicate all Jedi from the Galaxy.
