As spotted by Famitsu, a video posted by MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura during which he takes a tour through the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has shown several stills from the next game in the series. The tour is conducted by Sega President Haruki Satomi, who shows Asakura around the offices. Asakura is a big fan of the Yakuza series, hence the tour. However, it’s unlikely that the fighter was aware that he was leaking confidential information in this video. A sequel to Yakuza: Like A Dragon has already been confirmed, so it’s possible that this footage is from that game, and not Yakuza 8. Adding to this is that one of the screenshots is of Ichiban Kasuga, the protagonist of Yakuza: Like A Dragon. However, it is possible that the character simply appears in the new game. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio also confirmed that it’s working on a game outside of the Yakuza or Judgement franchises. In July, Japanese showbiz news site Nikkan Taishu claimed that sources had indicated that actor Takuya Kimura’s talent agency had been blocking PC versions of games in the Judgment series because they didn’t want him to appear in them. The report claims that Sega has been trying to bring Judgment and Lost Judgment to Steam, but because the agency is blocking this from happening it may draw a line under the series after Lost Judgment. 4 Comments Related VGC Content Judgment PC mod restores actor following drug arrest2 weeks ago Judgment and Lost Judgment have been rated for PC by the ESRB3 weeks ago Yakuza studio to show a sneak peek trailer during a live stream next week1 month ago PlayStation Plus games for August are now live2 months ago Popular Now on VGC1 Harley Quinn voice actor criticises Chris Pratt Mario casting ‘ It should be Charles’ 2 Phil Spencer could be teasing Xbox s game streaming device in a new office photo3 Interview How PlatinumGames is betting on Nintendo expertise to shape its future4 Modern Warfare 2 will seemingly require a phone number like Overwatch 25 Platinum thinks hiring of Nintendo veteran can take the companies relationship to the next level More Video Game News Mario Strikers’ first free update adds two new characters this weekDaisy and Shy Guy join the game alongside new gear and a new stadium2 months ago1 US PlayStation shipments were reportedly up 400% last monthPS5 supply appears to be increasing as Christmas approaches1 hour ago1 Comment Overwatch 2 servers down for some as Blizzard removes two heroes temporarilyThe game's rocky launch has caused much fan frustration2 hours ago A PlayStation Store anti-competitive lawsuit has been thrown out of courtThe plaintiffs had claimed that Sony had monopolised the market by setting digital prices2 months agoBy commenting on this article you agree to adhere to VGC’s community guidelines.
