The publisher published its full Tokyo Game Show line-up on Wednesday, with most of the games listed being titles already known. However, in its schedule of stage events, it lists a 45-minute show taking place on September 16 which is titled “Konami new release announced”.Subscribe to VGC on YouTube “Voice actor Yuji Kaji will be invited as a guest to represent the fans of a series which is loved all over the world, on the announcement stage for a new Konami title,” it reads. Kaji has lent his voice to a number of games, including a number of Final Fantasy titles. However, as he’s seemingly only “representing the fans” of the new game in question, this doesn’t necessarily mean the new title will be related to anything he’s previously starred in. One publishing source told VGC that the reveal is likely to be related to a smaller project, rather than Konami’s larger planned revivals for Castlevania, Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid (the first of which is understood to be furthest along in development), which VGC first reported on last year. As VGC reported earlier this year, a Silent Hill 2 remake is understood to be in active development at The Medium developer Bloober Team. Sources suggested the game will be a timed exclusive for PlayStation consoles (alongside PC). Another episodic series of Silent Hill “short stories” are understood to be in development at a studio under Annapurna Interactive, the acclaimed publisher behind games such as Sayonara Wild Hearts, Outer Wilds and Telling Lies. Further reading Konami’ s Silent Hill plans could include a remake full sequel and episodic storiesBloober Team is one developer understood to be working on a revival of the horror franchise Konami also has plans for remasters of classic Metal Gear Solid games, we were told. Sources also indicated last year that Chinese studio Virtuos was working on a new version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. While it’s possible Konami could tease all these projects at TGS, we understand it’s more likely they will be shown later this year via a more global-focused event such as a PlayStation State of Play or December’s The Game Awards. 15 Comments Related VGC Content Interview How PlatinumGames is betting on Nintendo expertise to shape its future22 hours ago Now the Silent Hill movie director claims ‘ multiple’ games are in the works2 days ago Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League will seemingly be announced at The Game Awards3 days ago Elle Fanning will star in Hideo Kojima’ s next game it’ s been confirmed4 days ago Popular Now on VGC1 Harley Quinn voice actor criticises Chris Pratt Mario casting ‘ It should be Charles’ 2 Modern Warfare 2 will seemingly require a phone number like Overwatch 23 Phil Spencer could be teasing Xbox s game streaming device in a new office photo4 Interview How PlatinumGames is betting on Nintendo expertise to shape its future5 Platinum thinks hiring of Nintendo veteran can take the companies relationship to the next level More Video Game News7 Horizon Forbidden West’ s latest update gives Aloy new Pride facepaintVersion 1.18 also adds over 50 other fixes and improvements1 month ago7 Comments US PlayStation shipments were reportedly up 400% last monthPS5 supply appears to be increasing as Christmas approaches1 hour ago Overwatch 2 servers down for some as Blizzard removes two heroes temporarilyThe game's rocky launch has caused much fan frustration1 hour ago5 Xbox will have its own presentation at Tokyo Game ShowThe streamed broadcast will be "curated for players in Japan and Asia"1 month ago5 CommentsBy commenting on this article you agree to adhere to VGC’s community guidelines.
