The publisher has for months been teasing plans to “unveil the future of Assassin’s Creed” during Ubisoft Forward, which is taking place on September 10, and details of its plans have now seemingly leaked from multiple sources including Bloomberg and Try Hard Guides. In addition to the already confirmed Assassin’s Creed Mirage, it’s claimed Ubisoft will use the event to reveal two major series entries and a mobile game. The first, codenamed Red and developed by Quebec, is said to take place in feudal Japan. Montreal’s title, which is codenamed Neo or Hexe, reportedly revolves around witch trials during the latter stages of the Holy Roman Empire. While Assassin’s Creed Infinity isn’t expected to launch until 2024 at the earliest, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is reportedly planned for release in spring 2023. Bloomberg first reported in February that Ubisoft was planning to release a smaller-scale, stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed game that is closer to the early series entries than the more recent RPG-influenced ones.
