Game director Martin Hollis, artists Brett Jones and Karl Hilton and composer Graeme Norgate will take part in a panel discussion on the making of the game, and will be signing copies at the London Excel centre. A Goldeneye tournament will also be taking place at the show. The panel was to celebrate 25 years of the N64 original, but has extra resonance following the news that Goldeneye 007 will be coming to Switch and Xbox. According to developer Rare, the Xbox version will include “achievements, 4K resolution and a smoother framerate – even in split-screen local multiplayer!” However, it lacks online multiplayer. Whereas the Switch version is a direct port of the N64 original, but does include online play. GoldenEye 007 will be made available on Xbox One and Xbox Series XS as part of Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, players who own a digital copy of Rare Replay will be able to download the game free of charge. Discussing the decade-long battle to bring back GoldenEye, Rare boss Craig Duncan told attendees at a GI Live panel this week: “To be honest, it took us longer than I wanted it to. We tried to get it lined up for when we did Rare Replay back in 2015, which I guess was Rare’s 30th anniversary. “As you can imagine, things involving licences and published games just have complexity. So my answer to your question is there were lots of conversations, lots of conversations with our friends at Nintendo, the folks at MGM, the folks at Xbox, and we just kept talking until we made it happen. “We made it happen, so I’m proud of that.” 2 Comments Related VGC Content US PlayStation shipments were reportedly up 400% last month1 hour ago Phil Spencer could be teasing Xbox s game streaming device in a new office photo19 hours ago Interview How PlatinumGames is betting on Nintendo expertise to shape its future22 hours ago Microsoft generated $2 9bn from Xbox Game Pass last year regulatory docs suggest23 hours ago Popular Now on VGC1 Harley Quinn voice actor criticises Chris Pratt Mario casting ‘ It should be Charles’ 2 Phil Spencer could be teasing Xbox s game streaming device in a new office photo3 Modern Warfare 2 will seemingly require a phone number like Overwatch 24 Interview How PlatinumGames is betting on Nintendo expertise to shape its future5 Platinum thinks hiring of Nintendo veteran can take the companies relationship to the next level More Video Game News5 Popular YouTuber Dunkey is launching a game publisher ‘ I’ m sick of sitting on the sidelines’ The content creator says he wants to use his reach to help bring the best indie games to market2 weeks ago5 Comments1 US PlayStation shipments were reportedly up 400% last monthPS5 supply appears to be increasing as Christmas approaches1 hour ago1 Comment Overwatch 2 servers down for some as Blizzard removes two heroes temporarilyThe game's rocky launch has caused much fan frustration2 hours ago1 Dying Light 2 s first story DLC has been delayed againBloody Ties will now arrive in November, a month later than previously planned2 weeks ago1 CommentBy commenting on this article you agree to adhere to VGC’s community guidelines.
