But you wouldn’t be here if you let challenges like that stop you. Welcome to Level 5.” Considering both of these images are hosted on PlayStation’s official website, they’re certainly real, but whether or not they’ll actually be used is yet to be seen. PlayStation Stars, which is coming to the west later in October, lets players earn rewards by completing a variety of campaigns and activities. The program also has a four-tier level system, in which all players start at Level 1 and can work their way up to Level 4 by buying games and earning trophies. A fifth tier is unannounced, but the evidence of the images and description could suggest that it’s something Sony plans to introduce in the future, potentially when the service is rolled out worldwide. Controversially, the service appears to offer high-tier users priority support, which has been received poorly by players in regions where the service has already launched. This essentially appears to mean that Level 4 PlayStation Stars members can skip the queue when contacting customer support with an issue. After Japanese site Automaton pointed this out on Twitter, numerous followers expressed their frustration at the perk, with some pointing out that good customer service should be a standard and not something you have to pay for. “Customer support must be equal”, Twitter user akutarosu said. “There are people who only like a few titles and play them, and there are gamers who can’t afford money or time.” 7 Comments Related VGC Content US PlayStation shipments were reportedly up 400% last month1 hour ago Interview How PlatinumGames is betting on Nintendo expertise to shape its future22 hours ago Microsoft generated $2 9bn from Xbox Game Pass last year regulatory docs suggest23 hours ago Last of Us TV show’ s Ellie hasn’ t played the game was ‘ encouraged not to’ 1 day ago Popular Now on VGC1 Harley Quinn voice actor criticises Chris Pratt Mario casting ‘ It should be Charles’ 2 Phil Spencer could be teasing Xbox s game streaming device in a new office photo3 Modern Warfare 2 will seemingly require a phone number like Overwatch 24 Interview How PlatinumGames is betting on Nintendo expertise to shape its future5 Platinum thinks hiring of Nintendo veteran can take the companies relationship to the next level More Video Game News28 A Horizon Zero Dawn remaster is in the works for PS5 it’ s claimedSources claim an update of the 2017 game is in development, along with a multiplayer spin-off1 week ago28 Comments1 US PlayStation shipments were reportedly up 400% last monthPS5 supply appears to be increasing as Christmas approaches1 hour ago1 Comment Overwatch 2 servers down for some as Blizzard removes two heroes temporarilyThe game's rocky launch has caused much fan frustration2 hours ago4 Activision s controversial CCO will step down ahead of Microsoft acquisitionThe former advisor to the Bush administration will remain at Activision Blizzard in an advisory role1 week ago4 CommentsBy commenting on this article you agree to adhere to VGC’s community guidelines.
