The response to the sequel of Horizon Zero Dawn looks to be overwhelmingly positive, making it another feather in PlayStation Studios cap and another essential exclusive for PlayStation players. VGC gave it a strong 5 stars out of 5 and called it a stunning sequel with a world that is "vast, sprawling and full of life and interesting characters." VG247 also praised the game and said that is does a "great job of building on the foundation that Horizon Zero Dawn laid out" and that "everything is more beautiful, the stakes are – somehow – higher, and the flirtations with BioWare-style story ideas shows just how much of a future this series has".
