It's so close, in fact, that select players are going to be given PvP Beta access from around 11:00 PST / 14:00 EST / 18:00 GMT on April 26. If you don't manage to get your hands on an invitation, though, don't worry. This isn't going to be the only PvP Beta available between now and the Overwatch 2 release date. Looking at the FAQs for Blizzard's upcoming Overwatch 2 PvP Beta, it has been revealed that the developer "is planning additional tests beyond this first PvP Beta". This answer was given in response to the following question: "Will there be future Betas?" As you might imagine, Blizzard are keeping tight-lipped about what these future Betas might include – but, with news that some Overwatch 2 hero redesigns won't be ready for the first Beta, it seems that these will be a big feature of future beta testing. It also looks like console players will be able to join in on the fun at some point in the future. This PvP Beta is exclusively limited to Windows-based PC players, but Blizzard has confirmed that it does plan on including console players in its future testing plans. We don't know if this will stretch to Overwatch players on Nintendo Switch consoles, but we can hope. What does all this mean for Overwatch 2's final product, though? It's hard to say right now. However, it looks like the eventual full release of Overwatch 2 is still going to be quite a ways away yet, despite the fact that we're about to jump into the beta testing. All Competitive modes, unique player profiles, and post-match endorsements will not be available. Blizzard has explained that "this reflects the game's work-in-progress state as well as [Blizzard's] initial areas of focus for testing."
