Warzone devs hide Gas Mask change in the Season 4 Reloaded update The Loadout The Loadout Warzone devs hide Gas Mask change in the Season 4 Reloaded update It's been a long time coming, but Raven Software has finally introduced some changes to the Gas Mask equipment in Warzone through the Season 4 Reloaded update Kyle Wilson Published: Jul 28, 2022 06:41 ET Call of Duty: Warzone Raven Software's Call of Duty Warzone Season 4 Reloaded update is finally upon us and there's a lot for battle royale fans to look forward to. There's new equipment to use in-game, a ghoulish game mode on Rebirth Island, and the Warzone Season 4 Reloaded patch notes include Nz-41 and Marco 5 nerfs. However, one of the most important updates wasn't actually mentioned in the patch notes at all. If you've ever had your game ruined by an auto-equipping Gas Mask, you'll be pleased to know that Raven Software is finally making some Gas Mask changes – now, it's toggleable! Warzone fans excitedly jumping into the shooter after the latest title update have spotted something unexpecting in the game's settings – something that's important to check once in a while, as Warzone has been known to reset a players' saved settings more than once. When you check out the "Weapons & Equipment" tab of the settings menu in-game, you'll notice a new option is now available: "Gas Mask is Toggle Only". Disabled by default, this new setting will allow players to make the game's Gas Mask a toggleable piece of equipment. Why is this a big deal? Well, it's all about visibility. At the moment, the common understanding is that the behaviour of Gas Masks hasn't changed – meaning they'll still decay when you're in the gas, whether you're wearing it or not. However, this does mean that you can opt to run and gun in your last moments alive instead of submitting to a disrupted death as your operator scrambles to put a Gas Mask on in a hail of bullets. At the moment, as per CharlieIntel's tweet, it looks like the setting isn't working quite as intended – which they have suggested might mean it's been added a little early. However, Raven Software has not commented online – or updated the Warzone Trello Board that notes unresolved issues – to reflect this. So, this could just mean that there's a minor issue with the enabling of this setting – something that could be fixed soon. For now, though, we will have to wait. The Warzone meta is shifting, either way, and this Gas Mask change might be one of the most minor-but-effective quality of life updates we've seen yet.
