Destiny 2 best PvP weapons in The Season of Plunder The Loadout The Loadout Destiny 2 best PvP weapons in The Season of Plunder In Destiny 2 Season of Plunder, there are plenty of viable options for dominating in PvP modes. Here are the best Destiny 2 PvP weapons in the current meta Mick Fraser Updated: Sep 5, 2022 17:06 ET Destiny 2 From hand cannons to glaives, Destiny 2 has a vast and varied spread of weapons. Multiple archetypes, dozens of Legendary or Exotic guns, and tons of randomised perks make for one of the most diverse and exciting arsenals in any online shooter. But which are the best Destiny 2 PvP weapons right now in The Season of Plunder? A skilled player can make any weapon combination viable, while those who simply want to have fun can do so with whatever feels comfortable. But who comes to the Crucible, Gambit, or Trials of Osiris to have fun? Not you. No, you come to bask in the warm glow of a fallen enemy's Ghost as it cleans up after the beating you just dolled out. If you want to be certain you're bringing the meanest guns to the gunfight, our guide to the best Destiny 2 PvP weapons has got you covered. Best Destiny 2 PvP weapons Some of the best Destiny 2 PvP weapons to use in The Season of Plunder include Austringer, The Chaperone, Likely Suspect, and many more. While there are dozens of viable weapons to take into competitive PvP modes, we've highlighted the best options from each weapon archetype in this list. Note that we've excluded Power weapons like swords or rocket launchers as these are often dependant on you securing heavy ammo. It's the Energy and Kinetic slots where you'll want to pay the closest attention. Best Destiny 2 PvP Hand Cannon   Austringer Hand Cannons are still very much the meta in Destiny 2 PvP. They're versatile, powerful, and there's a ton of Legendary options to free up your Exotic slot. While Eyasluna and Fatebringer remain popular, Austringer clinches the top spot. It hits hard with 140 RPM, and the To Excess Origin Trait boosts melee and grenade recharge speed on final blows. It can also be crafted in the Enclave on Mars once you've extracted the Resonance from three of them, allowing you to build your own God Roll. Adding Rangefinder and Snapshot Sights make it devastating, or roll Outlaw with Rampage for similarly terrifying effects. Best perks: Rangefinder, Snapshot Sights, Outlaw, Rampage Source: Opulent Chests, Helm: Crown of Sorrow Alternative: Fatebringer, Eyasluna Craftable: Yes Best Destiny 2 PvP Sidearm   Drang An old workhorse siderarm, Drang has seen a new lease of life thanks to its inclusion in Season of the Haunted's Opulent Arsenal. In PvE, it's a solid choice for a back-up weapon if you're running Solar, whereas in PvP it's a surprisingly lethal choice for the secondary slot. It can roll with perks like Moving Target, Incandescent, Quickdraw, and Disruption Break, making it a great gun for competitive play. Best perks: Moving Target, Incandescent, Quickdraw, Disruption Break Source: Opulent Chests, Helm: Crown of Sorrow Alternative: Forerunner, The Last Dance, Trespasser Craftable: Yes Best Destiny 2 PvP Sniper Rifle   Beloved The Trials of Osiris sniper rifle can roll with such great perk combinations that its already impressive stat spread becomes almost god-tier. With incredible range, handling, anti-flinch, it's an amazing sniper to use under pressure. Roll Snapshot Sights with Moving Target or Opening Shot and you'll never look at another sniper rifle again. Best Perks: Snapshot Sights, Moving Target, Opening Shot Source: Trials of Osiris engrams Alternative: Beloved, 1000 Yard Stare Craftable: No Best Destiny 2 PvP Shotgun The Chaperone Shotgun Bros dominate the Crucible in Destiny 2 for a reason. In the right hands (read: most aggressive), The Chaperone is nigh unstoppable. The Precision Slug allows for devastating headshots up close, which in turn proc The Roadborn, an intrinsic perk that makes this beauty even more dangerous. It's also a fine-looking weapon, if that's your bag. Perks: Precision Slugs, The Roadborn Source: Exotic Quest Alternative: Felwinter's Lie, Duality Craftable: No Best Destiny 2 PvP Bow Le Monarque We wouldn't want to condone any underhandedness in the Crucible, but frankly Le Monarque's poison tick is too good to pass up. While the Snapshot Sights perk is great for fast players, the beauty of this bow is that damage-over-time effect. It might be nasty, but it's fun. This weapon will cost you though, as it's now only available via the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower. Perks: Poison Arrows, Snapshot Sights Source: Monument to Lost Lights Alternative: Ticcu's Divination Craftable: No Best Destiny 2 PvP SMG Shayura s Wrath If you've ever been mowed down in seconds and left wondering if you were killed by a Guardian or a bolt of lightning, chances are you came up against an SMG with the right perks. There are plenty of great options for this weapon, but the best is Shayura's Wrath. The 600 RPM grants it an incredible TTK (time to kill), and the aim assist is more than decent. Killing Wind and Kill Clip combine to make it truly terrifying. If you're up to the task of earning the Adept version, even better. Best Perks: Killing Wind, Kill Clip Source: Trials of Osiris Engrams Alternative: Funnelweb, Osteo Striga Craftable: No Best Destiny 2 PvP Fusion Rifle   Likely Suspect Not only is Likely Suspect one of the best-looking Fusions in Destiny 2, it's also a superb gun to take into the Crucible thanks to a few very useful Perk combinations. Perpetual Motion is a solid Perk on most weapons in PvP, but when combined with either Golden Tricorn or Successful Warm-Up it creates a truly formidable Fusion Rifle. The latter Perk in particular decreases charge time after a kill, reducing it to almost instant when you're on a roll. Best Perks: Successful Warm-Up, Golden Tricorn, Perpetual Motion Source: World drop (Savathun's Throneworld) Alternative: Deliverance, Riptide Craftable: Yes Best Destiny 2 PvP Pulse Rifle   New Purpose Introduced with the Duality Dungeon in Season of the Haunted, New Purpose has some incredible perk combos that make it an absolute monstrosity in the Crucible. Combining Perpetual Motion with just about anything is a great move, but roll it with Desperado and you're laughing all the way to the morgue. It's worth noting that it's also a Stasis weapon, so it can roll with the always-entertaining Headstone. Oh, and it can drop with the Bitterspite Origin Trait, increasing performance when you take damage. Best Perks: Perpetual Motion, Tunnel Vision, Desperado, Headstone Source: Duality Dungeon Alternative: No Time to Explain, Syncopation-53 Craftable: No Best Destiny 2 PvP Scout Rifle Dead Man s Tale One of the best guns in Destiny 2 for any activity, Dead Man's Tale is a fantastic hip-fire Scout Rifle. Since The Witch Queen release, it can roll with randomised perks in Xur's inventory. Killing Wind, Vorpal Weapon, or Snapshot Sights combine with the Cranial Spike intrinsic trait to devastating effect. Slow, steady, accurate, and powerful. Best Perks: Killing Wind, Snapshot Sights Source: Xur Alternative: Mida Multitool, Servant Leader Craftable: No, but does get random rolls from Xur Best Destiny 2 PvP Auto Rifle   Monte Carlo While there are some great Legendary choices if you'd rather rock an Exotic in slot two, Monte Carlo is still a great weapon for PvP. If you're a player who likes to get up close and personal, it's even better, as its intrinsic Perks restore ammo and buff damage for melee kills as well as weapon kills. It's also got decent range and a solid TTK on mid-range Guardians. Perks: Monte Carlo Method, Markov Chain Source: World drop Alternative: The Summoner, Krait Craftable: No Best Destiny 2 PvP Light Grenade Launcher   Lingering Dread Introduced in Season of the Haunted, Lingering Dread is a random drop from the Duality Dungeon. Not only does it come with great base velocity and high reload speed, it can also roll with the Bitterspite perk which causes incoming damage to increase reload speed. Pair it with Chill Clip, which causes the top half of the magazine to slow targets, it's surprisingly lethal in PvP activities. Best Perks: Ambitious Assassin, Chill Clip, Auto-Loading Holster, Bitterspite Source: Duality Dungeon (random drop) Alternative: Witherhoard, Salvager's Salvo Craftable: No 3000 (+500 BONUS) Destiny 2 Silver – PS4/ PS5 3000 (+500 BONUS) Destiny 2 Silver – PS4/ PS5 Amazon $29.99 Buy Now Network N earns commission from qualifying purchases via Amazon Associates and other programs. 3000 (+500 BONUS) Destiny 2 Silver – Xbox 3000 (+500 BONUS) Destiny 2 Silver – Xbox Microsoft $29.99 Buy Now Network N earns commission from qualifying purchases via Microsoft and other programs.
