Poké mon Scarlet and PokÉ mon Violet Paldea region The Paldea region in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet is based off of Spain and Portugal (the Iberian Peninsula) and features a number of distinct environments. These include a large canyon to the east, a huge lake in the north, and a giant volcano in the centre of the island it seems. One of the large cities can be seen in the south of the island, which appears to lead to where the player will begin their journey.
