Assassin s Creed Mirage Basim overview history and more The Loadout The Loadout Assassin s Creed Mirage Basim overview history and more Basim will play a huge part in Assassin’s Creed Mirage and we have everything you need to know about this returning character ahead of his next appearance Kyle Wilson Updated: Sep 10, 2022 16:07 ET Assassin's Creed Mirage Assassin's Creed Mirage is coming and it sounds like it's going to be the Assassin's Creed game quite a few of the series' fans have been waiting for. Through this entry, Ubisoft is going to take a step back from the RPG-heavy experience of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla and offer players an AC game that harks back to the series' roots – with stealth-based combat and dense urban environments at the forefront. We know we have said that a Basim-led Assassin's Creed game is essential for more than one reason in the past, but who actually is Basim? Well, that's the question we're here to answer. With this Assassin's Creed Mirage Basim overview, we're going to detail everything you need to know about this Hidden One. Much like all the other main characters in the Assassin's Creed franchise, there's a lot you need to know about Basim before we even delve into the unique gameplay opportunities he affords us as players and Ubisoft as developers. Thankfully, however, we know quite a lot about this character ahead of time due to his starring role alongside Eivor and Sigurd in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. So, in order to get fully clued up on this character before Ubisoft's next game comes out, this Assassin's Creed Mirage Basim overview is going to give you a whistle-stop tour of what he was up to in Valhalla. This, alongside what we know about this character's unique traits and abilities, should prepare you for your adventure in Baghdad come the Assassin's Creed Mirage release date. Assassin s Creed Mirage Basim history and lore In Assassin's Creed, Basim Ibn Ishaq is the orphaned son of an architect who grew up in ninth-century Baghdad and joined the Hidden Ones to train as a Master Assassin. He achieved this and became the leader of Constantinople's Bureau, taking on Hytham as an apprentice. In a similar vein to Eivor and their connection with the Isu Odin, Basim is a reincarnation of the Isu Loki. Unlike Eivor, however, Basim actually inherited the direct memories of Loki – thanks to the trickster's wild attempts at avoiding the Great Catastrophe that destroyed the First Civilization. This makes him quite an interesting character in Assassin's Creed Valhalla as, by this stage in his life, his motives and personality are fuelled by Loki's memories and own goals. We just simply don't know who Basim was before this before he succumbed fully to Loki's consciousness. All we know at the moment is that Basim is a talented assassin who sought out learning from scholars and scientists at a young age alongside his training to master the art of being a Hidden One. With any luck, Ubisoft will use Assassin's Creed Mirage to shine a light on all the mystery surrounding this character. Assassin s Creed Mirage Basim &ndash unique traits and abilities Talking more practically about Basim, it's clear that he is a talented assassin in every aspect – as mentioned above. His time serving as the leader of the Constantinople Bureau proves that as much as the fact that he has trained to become a Master Assassin in the Hidden Ones does. Not only this but there are several stories littered throughout the Assassin's Creed lore that highlight his ability to fight and overcome members of the Order of the Ancients. This all suggests that Basim is going to be quite the combatant in Assassin's Creed Mirage – and, someone who has a knack for stealth. However, as you might imagine, he isn't perfect. He is hardened by the loss of a son, according to his database entry in Assassin's Creed Rebellion, and it is believed that he has suffered from bouts of mania throughout his life – thanks to Loki. While we don't expect Basim to directly channel the Aesir magic used by Loki originally, this does play into his worldview and how he approaches situations. It makes him dangerous and unpredictable, too. However, Basim is also shown to show compassion and respects the loyalty of those around him. As for how he plays in Mirage, we don't have any idea yet as gameplay wasn't shown off but hopefully we should get a better idea over the coming months. And that is our overview of Assasin's Creed Mirage's Basim, the game's protagonist. With the game set for release in 2023, we will likely see far more of what Basim has to offer ahead of the Assassin's Creed Mirage release date.
