Sports News National Games 2022 Rosy Paulraj Etches History By Breaking Pole Vaulting National Record By Sayanta Sengupta - October 2, 2022 107 FacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsApp In every National Games, we see several new records being made and old records being broken. Being the premier national event in India, the National Games 2022 is the ultimate goal for an Indian athlete in the domestic arena. The likes of PV Sindhu, Neeraj Chopra and Anju Bobby George have all graced the National Games 2022 with their presence and it is no doubt, a star-studded affair. Now, Tamil Nadu’s sensation Rosy Paulraj has added her name in the history books after she broke the national record in Pole Vault. She cleared the bar at 4.20m and she stunned everyone with her exemplary performance. Paulraj has thereby broken the 8-year National Record held by Surekha Renjit. The national record holder received a grand applause at IIT Gandhinagar, the arena where athletics is taking place in the National Games 2022. However, an interesting anecdote about her has surfaced up. A few hours before the event, Paulraj wasn’t event sure if she would be participating in the National Games 2022. She had missed her train and was on the verge of not reaching the city on time. “I thought the train was at 10:30 but when I reached there it had already left,” said Paulraj as reported by Indian Express. However, her father stepped in and bailed her out of danger waters. Within a few hours, her father arranged for some money and arranged a flight ticket for Paulraj. “He didn’t yell or lose his temper. He just asked me if I would still like to go. And within minutes he borrowed money and arranged a flight ticket for me,” she said.
