One major discussion has always been the potential for the franchise to be a console-exclusive. However, a very strong point of the franchise could force Microsoft to ensure that the game is available on as many platforms as possible. Call of Duty has been a major name in gaming, with the military-shooter title growing rapidly ever since its inception.
