On the show, he spoke about his use of alternative medicine, especially a herbal narcotic called ayahuasca. "To me, one of the core tenets of your mental health is self-love. And what better way to work on my mental health than to have an experience like that?” Ayahuasca is a plant found and used in the Amazon basin by the native people of the area. The drink brewed from the plant has psychedelic effects and was used for spiritual purposes by the native tribes of the area. It is illegal in the USA but is legal in South America. The four-time MVP was certainly not short of critics in the wake of his interview, with some even claiming that he should face a doping suspension. While many were quick to criticize Rodgers, others rushed to his defense, praising the veteran QB for speaking out. One of AR12's main sources of support came from his rumored girlfriend, Blu of Earth. The podcast host and self-proclaimed deep-thinker took to her Instagram account (according to OutKick) to offer words of encouragement, saying: "Changing history and forging the future one courageous truth at a time.
