Ruud dismissed Kyle Edmund in straight sets 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 in the first round. The Norwegian is having a phenomenal season, picking up 40 wins and just 15 defeats. He deservedly reached a career-high ranking of World No. 5 this year. The 23-year-old made his maiden Grand Slam final at the French Open but fell short in the final hurdle against Rafael Nadal.
