They will rally around you, providing the compassion, answers and advanced treatments you need. Our Approach to Bone and Soft Tissue Tumor Care We provide your care at the Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. There, your convenience and peace of mind are a top priority. From experienced orthopaedic oncologists to advanced imaging and radiation therapy, you can find everything you need in one place. Our program also features: Comprehensive team: Aside from our highly specialized orthopaedic oncologists, our team includes specialists such as radiation oncologists, pathologists and plastic surgeons. These experts meet regularly to create treatment plans that consider every aspect of your life and health. Easy appointment scheduling: We work hard to get you in to see us within a week of your initial call, sometimes the same day. We also often do biopsies at your initial appointment and aim to get your results back to you quickly. Accurate diagnosis: We have the expertise to make rare diagnoses. For example, interventional radiologists who specialize in musculoskeletal tumors perform biopsies. Then, pathologists who specialize in bone and soft tissue tumors analyze the samples. Read more about pathology and laboratory medicine. Advanced technology: If you have a metal implant, it can prevent your specialist from getting clear images during an MRI. We use metal artifact reduction sequence (MARS) software to analyze your extremity even if you have an implant. And our PET/MRI scan shows us how your tissues and organs are working (via the PET scan) and provides detailed images of them (MRI) during one session.
