Kheerganga, hidden at the far end of the Pin Parvati Valley and impressing millions with its pure beauty, sits in the lap of nature. Kheerganga is a kaleidoscope of nature's greatest gifts, and it's a relatively simple hike. The breathtaking night sky and glistening greens of the day make this walk extraordinary in many ways, but the hot water spring is the greatest. The stunning natural beauty of this trip has remained undisturbed by the forces of consumerism and is only enhanced by the humble lifestyle of the inhabitants. To delve deeper into the Kheerganga trek details - like Kheerganga trek best time, Kheerganga trek difficulty, Kheerganga trek height, Kheerganga trek itinerary, and more - a compilation of the trek particulars are given below. So, keep scrolling along with us to know more about this incredible adventure.

Introduction

Kheerganga is a tiny settlement tucked in the Parvati Valley, situated at the height of around 3050m. Lord Shiva is said to have meditated here for roughly 10,000 years, making it a significant holy location. Kheerganga was also named after the milky white Parvati river that runs through the valley. As this location is claimed to be Lord Shiva's residence and is regarded as a spiritual spot, you will discover an old temple devoted to him. Apart from the Prashar Lake Trek, Kheerganga is known for its hot springs and is one of the best hikes in Himachal. Yes, you read that correctly. At the end of the trail, you'll encounter hot springs (which are essential for relieving sore muscles and joints). These hot springs' natural water is milky white, and bathing in them is said to be peaceful and spiritual. There are separate pools for men and women, so you won't have to be concerned about your privacy when swimming. Many tourists travel to the Kheerganga trek in December to experience the snow-covered paths and snow-capped mountain vistas. If this is your first trip, avoid going in December or joining a trekking group, as going on a snow hike alone is not recommended. Below-mentioned is some critical facts about the Kheerganga Trek:Duration: Typically 2 Days and 1 Night Cost: 2500-4000 INRHeight:2,690 metersDistance:12 kmDifficulty: Easy to moderate

How To Reach The Kheerganga Trek

By Air -

‍The Kullu Manali Airport in Bhuntar is the closest airport to Kasol. Flights to Bhuntar are few and far between, and aside from the frequency, the reliability might be suspect. For your continued travel, taxis and buses are available. The second (safer, more trustworthy) alternative is to fly into Mohali Airport (Chandigarh), around 300 kilometres away.

By Train -

‍Joginder Nagar railway station is the closest station. You may rent a cab from here and be in Kasol in less than four hours.

By Road -

‍This is, without a doubt, the most convenient method to reach the Parvati Valley. The journey from Delhi to Kasol takes roughly 12 hours and covers approximately 565 kilometres. Make a lot of pit stops for a relaxing and enjoyable ride. For the most part, the roads from Delhi to Kasol are decent because Parvati Valley is a well-known tourism destination, particularly among international visitors. On the other hand, the vistas are breathtaking and make up for the long drive to Parvati Valley.

By Bus -

‍Many public buses depart from ISBT in Delhi for the nighttime trek to Bhuntar. Starting at INR 1500, Volvo/Mercedes buses will be available. A bus journey from Chandigarh will take around 8 hours. You'll need to change buses in Bhuntar and get a bus to Manikaran, where you'll get out at Kasol.

By Taxi -

‍Taxis are accessible at all main locations (airports, railway stations, bus stops) — expect to haggle, especially if you're getting off at the railway station. However, booking a prepaid cab service is the easiest way to go about this. There are also shared taxis available.

Kheerganga Trek Best Time To Visit

This journey has a moderate temperature throughout the year, which is also one of its greatest features. As a result, the walk is best done at any time of year, including in the winter. You may travel here during the winter months if you choose, but you will need to plan ahead of time. The following is a list of what you may anticipate seeing in Kheerganga throughout each month:

March to June Summer Season

If you want to avoid the summer heat, this walk is best done during the summer. Most people plan their Kheerganga trek from Delhi during these months in order to relax and enjoy the nice weather. However, because Kheerganga is located at a high elevation, the temperature remains cool during the journey, even in the summer. This is why, even in the summer, you should bring warm clothing for your hike.

July to September Monsoon Season

Although trekking to Kheerganga during the monsoon season might be challenging, it is also quite rewarding. Throughout these months, the entire valley is blanketed with lush vegetation, making for a magnificent spectacle. The peak, however, will be cooler, so bring heavy coats and thermals to wear at night. Also, the hiking path is muddy and slick at this time of year, so bring excellent waterproof hiking shoes.

October to February Winter Season

Finally, you may travel here in the winter, although you must exercise greater caution. Kheerganga is still manageable; you'll only need to bring additional warm and woollen clothing. You will, however, need to hire a local guide and porter if you plan to walk to Kheerganga in December, January, or February. You can also join a winter trek group because travelling to Kheerganga on your own in the winter months is difficult.

Kheerganga Trek Routes

Kalga Village

‍The Barshaini Bridge serves as a junction point. From the bridge, turn right and hike up to Kalga Village. This road is hilly and uneven, and lush trees surround it. This road takes a little longer to reach Kheerganga, but it provides a tranquil and serene ambience. Because this path is not well-travelled, a local tour guide is recommended.

Nakthan Village

‍From the Barshaini Bridge, take the Nakthan Village road to the left. It is the most popular and straightforward approach. This path takes 3-4 hours, depending on walking speed, to reach Kheerganga. This well-marked path follows the Parvati River on the left bank.

Tosh Village

‍From Tosh Village, there is another trekking trail to Kheerganga. The majority of tourists that visit Tosh follow this path. Near Nakthan Village, this route intersects with the 2nd route.

Kheerganga Trek Itinerary

Day 1

To get to Barshaini, take a bus or order a cab from Kasol. The journey will take roughly one hour. It's a 12-kilometre hike from Barshaini to Kheerganga, which should take around 5 hours depending on the trekkers' walking speed. You can enjoy the surreal splendour of the Parvati valley and visit the Rudranag temple throughout the hike. The nicest and most thrilling aspect of the walk is getting to swim in a natural hot spring. This will undoubtedly be a memorable event for you. Following the hike, you will have the opportunity to camp beneath the stars.

Day 2

‍Today, you must fall downward, remembering yesterday's delightful experience. It is yet another 12-kilometre hike. Due to the unpredicted rain the night before, it is important to be cautious when descending downwards. When you get to Barshaini after another 5 hours of trekking, you may rest, eat your lunch, and relax. Then, from Barshaini to Kasol, take a cab or a bus.
