In Cricket, bowling is the action of throwing the ball toward the wicket guarded by a batsman.

A player who performs the above action is known as the bowler. A bowler can also be a competent batsman and in all probability be called as all-rounder.

1 What is bowling in cricket

The act of bowling the ball towards the batsman is called a delivery or a ball. When deliveries are bowled in sets of six, it's called an over. Once a bowler has bowled an over, a teammate will bowl an over from the other end of the pitch.

2 The laws of cricket that apply to bowling

A no ball occurs if a ball is bowled illegally. The umpire has the power to make that judgement.If a ball is bowled too wide where it's beyond the reach of a batsman to be able to play at it with a proper cricket shot, the umpire will rule it a wide.

3 Types of bowlers

Fast Bowlers - Their primary weapon is paceSwing and Seam Bowlers - They make the ball deflect in its course while in the air or even when it bouncesSlow bowlers - They usually ain to deceive the batsmen with a variety of spins and flight.A Spin Bowler - They usually deliver the ball slowly and put a spin on it causing it to turn at an angle.
